Depends on the game. It all comes down to the community to me but you said that doesn't matter to you. I have made some good friends just playing random online games.
Also thanks for the key drop but I already have them both.

Not everyone enjoys multiplayer, nothing wrong with that. My own preference is for single player games as well.

not really, i only play a few multiplayer games like tf2 and counter strike mainly for the money... lol, and they're fun too, i guess, but generally mutiplayer games have no true meaning to them, other than to beat the other team which, to me, doesn't have much pay off as other games have for single player

Try finding a buddy in real life or online that will play some co-op with you. Playing together with someone you get along with can be a lot of fun.oo.

Well TBH I'm much more a singleplayer myself...
However, thanks to steam I recently tried a few games in which I could enjoy multiplayer :D
Mostly Terraria and just cause 2 with friends, and trackmania and dark souls with random strangers, but those are exceptions to the rule for me.
My advice: try multiplayer when it is an option, be it with friends or random people. If you like it, that's good! If you don't, don't force yourself to do something you don't like :)
There's nothing wrong with being a singleplayer \o/

multiplayer in tf2 is a rewarding experience for me. It gives me a lot of adversaries which are better than me to learn how to defeat and interaction with other players is so amusing. Just wait until you have your first secret meeting of the sandvich heavies and you'll see.

The only games where I enjoyed online multiplayer were the ones were I didn't need to interact with others. I'm more of a single-player person myself and maybe the occasional LAN party with friends.

I also prefer playing alone, but if I come across a MP game I enjoy, then I don't mind other people around every once in a while :)
I like MMORPGs, because you can play them alone OR you can join a party and both aspects are (usually) equally enjoyable :)

I've found it a lot easier to play with "randoms" in less serious games, like TF2 than games like Company of Heroes or DOTA 2. Most people I've seen in TF2 who use the chat seem to be very calm about things, and I rarely see people insult each other. That is very much unlike the two other games I mentioned.

I am somewhat the same, It is a preference and does not make you any less of a gamer.

It's impossible to play multiplayer on all games, and nowadays a lot of games have MP integration. The best solution is just look for one or two games in which you enjoy the multiplayer and stick with them, so maybe you will not have that feeling of missing something when left aside the MP of a game...

After being on Steam for awhile I've noticed that no matter what kind of game it is or how good/bad the community might be I just can't get into the multiplayer aspect. Maybe it's because I find it odd to play with randoms rather than a group of friends. Which is a shame because sometimes I feel like that could be really fun. :/
That being said there are some great single player games out there...Limbo and Bastion because keys.
