Are foils THAT rare?

They seem to be quite rare, even though there's plenty of them in the market. I've only gotten one foil so far, although I have received several booster packs.

Yep i think i have had around 4 foils since the beta started ... and i have sold around 200 cards or even more :D.

I got somewhere between 300 an 400 cards and among those there were only 3 foils. 1 was from booster, other two from regular drops. So from my experience I'd say 1 in 100 should be foil. Maybe I was lucky, or maybe you were unlucky so far.

I had 5 on Christmas. Paid for some nice games.

I've gotten around 6 of em. 10+ Booster packs. I thought everyone had similar experiences...

I have 10 foils. I never felt they were rare until I read this topic... :-S

I've only gotten one so far, but I was pretty lucky as I got it during the Steam Card Trading beta. I was able to sell it for $16.00...that same card is now $0.75.

Haven't been keeping count, had probably 10 or so, some in events though.

Harvesting some now, will see if I get a foil when I check.

It appears that I 'boast' a high resistance to foil drops, as I feared...:/

P.S. I was in the TC beta too.

Eligible for 190+ boosters, I get one every 2-3 weeks maybe, found 4-5 foils. so yeah, pretty rare indeed

I've had 12, don't think any of them came in booster packs, all in the original card drops. 140+ eligible games.

never got any. only through gifts. But you can buy them easily for ~ cheap.

i must be tired, read the title and at first thought it said something about Foil hats.

I have only seen a few, I received one from each holiday sale - I sold the globe and that's it I don't have any from my games.

I'm eligible for 116 booster packs and I've only received 4 foils out of all of the cards that I've gotten since joining the beta for trading cards.

They're pretty rare.

On a bit of an unrelated note, I know I'm only level 4 and only eligible for booster packs in 7 games, but I haven't got any yet. How rare are those?

never had one and have sold over 400 cards

out of 450+ cards only 6 were foil

I'm eligible to get booster packs for 105 games and got 12 booster packs while I was below level 20.

Got 2 after farming about 500 cards. It's just luck I guess.

I've got 2 foils in the same day from two different games, and that's after farming over 50 games.

I got a Spitter foil during the beta but it literally had the lowest foil price on the market (such luck)

I only got 2 foils from out of around 180 cards. Did manage to get 2 Christmas Globe foils in a row somehow, during winter sale.

your just unlucky. i am level 26 eligable for 25 games got already 4-5 Foils (2 of them i already got one the regular drops after buying and 2-3 from booster)

They are rare, I've had well over a hundred drops and never got a foil
Though my friend, on his first drop, got a while, too bad it was when the foil prices dropped a ton, and also it was for killing floor, so it wasn't so valuable, but still... /(-_-)\
