Tried to play EVE for 5-6 times and leave it every time. Too much grinding for me as miner/trader etc. Never used military prof. though. Will try with starter pack.

Do you know anything about those different professions? Asking since I just bought it and wondering what the game is like

Find some guides. There are thousands of them just search for it. You'll be able to learn the basics in-game too with their great tutorial that explains every profession.

For some game feels like work. Its a game with no direction whatsoever, Theres shitload of stuff to do, but youre mostly guided by other player advices and your own exploration.

One thing that cant turn ppl of is that theres no 100% pvp immunity. Sure if someone shoots you in empire they got shot by police, but that doesnt mean your ship will survive that. Oh and police doesnt bother with thieves...

Its easier to explain when you know direction you wanna go more or less.

Sounds very broad - but again I was expecting that, heard some things from my father in law who played it for 6 years or something.

One thing i love about eve is that each expansion adds more stuff to do, but all other stuff doesn't get kicked to side like in other games (im looking at you wow)

The other is events like "burn jita" where you can read that devs where watching it with popcorn xD. Ofc even was player made, They only supplied more power to jita system to handle more stress :>

Sounds fun, also sounds like it's a good thing my father in law has played it for so long so he can guide me into it.

Well, it seems there's no 1$ minimum for this one. The minimum was $0.5 (0.37€). That's cheap. I just bought it just in case one day I'll decide to waste my time in an MMO again.

Although I doubt it in this case. The subscription fees are expensive in Europe. $20.50/month in Europe, $15/month in the USA and everywhere else. No, thank you.

I bought it for $0.01?

I tried $0.2 at first (well, I don't want to end up COSTING them money; $0.01 would make me an asshole), but the transaction failed when I tried to pay. A message said "50 cent minimum required." Maybe it's a credit card thing? I don't use PayPal.

"The payment processor will deduct a fee from your payment before we receive it. Fees typically range between 1.9% and 5% + $0.05 to $0.30 depending on a number of factors including your location, purchase price, and payment method. We've found that PayPal's fees are generally the lowest, but please choose whichever is convenient for you"
Says down at the bottom, sounds like you're right. I can't believe I never even noticed you can pay with credit card directly now...I might as well just keep using paypal now though...same info being typed in, all it needs is the account plus low fee!

Don't know what they're saying about fees. There's no fees when I pay with CC. I entered $0.5, and that's what got subtracted from my CC (MasterCard). Not a cent more.

I tried PayPal in the past, and they would subtract more than what was listed. I then found out that PayPal has fees. I stopped using it after that and instead made a virtual MasterCard in my online bank page.

Maybe I'm an asshole for paying $0.01 but to be honest, EVE people don't need the money, they'll be getting plenty if their game is good enough for me to sub. With regards to Humble they seem to be doing very well so I don't feel bad.

Normally I'd agree, but not in this case due to the charity :-)

Fair and honest point - I've just never been that charitable...I feel like maybe I should be....but dammit I'm not feeling it - oh well.

It has its own activation page. There's instructions on how to do this after you buy:

My memory of EVE Online from trying the demo some years ago was that the font for all in-game text was stupidly small, like it was designed back in the day when 1024x768 was a high-res monitor and the pixel density was so much lower.

I wonder if they ever fixed that issue?

I would think you could use the beat the average on your account and the plex other then that no the starter will most likely give you nothing

Buy it for 1 cent, sell the minerals to get over 10k ISK, contract it to your main, sell the geckos (yes they're included) or wait for the price to climb (buy orders @ 8mil in Jita now.) Then join a corp with the extra char and awox them.

The cerebral implant won't be usable on your main and can't be placed on the market. You'd have to contract it and I don't know what characters younger than 14 days will have a decent wallet. I took a glance at the sell contracts in Lonetrek and saw some over 100mil. Don't know if anyone's biting, though.

There are about to be spies everywhere. Recruiters will be weary of accounts made after today's date for a long time to come.

You could do the same things with the clothing items and ship skin by contracting them over, yes.
