hi there!

I still have a FFXIV:ARR Digital Collectors Edition Key lying around. Is anyone interested in playing this game? you know.. PLAYING, because you can't add it to your steam library and increase your game count by 1.

If you are interested simply tell me 3 Reasons why you should get the Key.

i know this is not a steamgift... but it's a gift and we had origin stuff here, too =)

  1. I've been into Final Fantasy since playing Final Fantasy III (VI) on Super Nintendo when I was a child back in the 90's. Actually, I'd previously played FF1 on NES, but it was too difficult for a five year old version of me. My interest in the series grew exponentially with VII--just as it did for most people--on the original PlayStation. I stuck with the series pretty faithfully all the way up to X, including spinoffs like Ehrgeiz and Chocobo Racing; which is a criminally underrated kart racer, in my opinion. Unfortunately I was never able to play XI due to not having a credit card at the time to keep up with the monthly service fees. By the time I was finally able, XIV had already been announced, so I figured I'd just wait for that. XII I'd missed out on due to having already moved on from PlayStation 2 when it was released. As for XIII? Well, frankly it just wasn't a compelling game in my books. Once XIV was finally released, I lacked a gaming PC capable of running it, so I waited patiently for the promised PS3 version... Which never came, until recently, after I've moved onto PC gaming full-swing. So yeah, anyway, I'm a longtime fan who has wanted to play a Final Fantasy MMO for about a decade now.

  2. I will actually play it, and pay for it. I've played several other MMO's in the past and maintained monthly subscriptions to them for reasonable periods of time. They've all gone free to play at this point, so I've let my subscriptions lapse, but paying the monthly fees were never a problem for me. The most notable of the them were DC Universe Online and Star Wars: The Old Republic, but I've also played Ultima Online, Star Trek Online, and World of Warcraft (briefly).

  3. I'm fully aware that the game is not available on Steam, and I don't care. Granted I do have a bit of a collectors' personality, but at the end of the day, if I want to play a game, I'll play it; regardless of whatever client it's attached to. I own games through Steam, Origin, UPlay, GOG, plus some retail titles that I still play regularly.

P.S; I'd simply buy the game myself eventually, but I've made a promise to my wife that I won't buy anything new until next year. However, games received as gifts and through trading are except from our agreement. Plus, she's also interested in FFXIV, so if I had the game, she'd probably make a character and play, too.

  1. I played the ARR beta a bit and though it was turning out pretty nicely.
  2. I put more hours in FFXI than any other game every. It was my WoW.
  3. I don't have time for another MMORPG and even if is a great game I'll never feel the same magic I remember with FFXI. Damned nostalgia.

Better take me off the list.

1- RPG is my favorite genre and I am a great fan of the FF games
2- I have seen gameplays of the beta and it looks amazing, i havent played FFXIII (because i dont have a ps3 and im not planning on buying one) but the combat system seems a lot like the one in XII which i loved, It gave me a unique feeling of playing an rpg mixed with rts
3- Aaaand you can be sure that im going to play it,comparing it with many other mmorpg i have seen so far this is just outstanding, not only the gameplay but the graphics and theres no other with a similar battle system (that i have seen)

Well, i have acutally never tried the FF series, but just as it came out, quite a lot of my friends started playing it. Havnt gotten it yet - plus i never played Wow, cause my comp sucked at that time, even though i love RPGs and MMORPGs.

And you rock ;) haha

I'm very much so interested in getting this key you've got lying around, and I'll tell you why.

  1. Because I'm #1! Ok, sorry for the awful pun. It's because FFXIV is my one and only MMO on my list of MMO interests right now, and the last MMORPG I paid a subscription for was Dark Age of Camelot. That was many years ago, when it didn't have any expansions. Yeah, quite some time...

  2. I really enjoy the Final Fantasy series, and after seeing a little gameplay of reborn FFXIV I found myself highly interested in it! I will most definitely be spending as much time as I can with the game if I get it.

  3. The third reason is because you're giving it away! I should get the key because you're giving it away. This reason makes no sense, but here is something that does make sense. Just know it's highly appreciated to see such generosity. It's a Collector's Edition key for a great game that you're giving away here, really nice thing to be doing.

Anyways, if you managed to wade your way through this massive list and happen to see this, thanks for reading. Hope you didn't get too bored of reading all this text in the thread.

I played WoW and Everquest for years and played the beta for this on PS3. I enjoyed it. My wife also plays MMO's and would like to play it too. Plus I have played every Final Fantasy game released in America dating back to the original when it got released (bought it at Toys R Us). Thanks for offering this.

Well I've loved the FF series since my wee years as a childkin, but I don't know how much that counts for seeing as this is an MMO and not a regular FF. Still, I do get the Final Fantasy vibe from this one o
I haven't properly played an MMO since RuneScape way, way, waaaay back and I've been wanting to really get into one and this definitely looks like my style of MMO.
I'd get that Magitek Armor in a week! Or two? I don't know how long it'd take..
I'm actually excited about the prospect of playing this game.

  1. I've loved playing the Final Fantasy series. It's style of gameplay was my original favorite, though I have branched out and experienced other styles of gameplay.
  2. I haven't had the opportunity to experience the rest of the Final Fantasy series after Final Fantasy XII.
  3. My virtual name, in-game name, gamer tag, or whatever you want to call it has been Montblac since 2nd grade. Montblanc is a Moogle. My gamer nickname was influenced by the FFTA black mage moogle, Montblanc.

  1. I've loved final fantasy ever since FF1 came out in the US. RAT TAIL, TIME TO UPGRADE CLASSES!

  2. I still listen to the sound tracks of many of the FF series, I think I replayed the soundtrack of X till my ears bled.

  3. Because I know how to be a part of a team. MMO's require team work or you might as well be playin solo.
