Two questions about giveaways!

First, when creating a giveaway, why are some of the titles ending in an *? Second, last night I gave out a copy of alan wake collectors edition and American nightmare, and on my profile it says Ive only done contributions of 30 dollars, when together those 2 are 50. Why is this?

because they're bundled games and it would be unfair to pay 2 bucks and get over $50 contribution value.

games with * are bundle games(games that were in bundles like humble bundle,etc.).

they have max 30$ contribution.and this is why you got 30 and not 50

Ahh, gotcha, thanks, still new here, and though I know its a bundle, I thought it would be nice to donate to charity while giving away some of the copies i got :)

after 30$ CV u don't get any CV ever again for bundled games the * ones.
u need to giveaway nonbundle games to get more CV.

Actually the first 25$ from bundles considered non-bundle CV, so the 30$ is actually the 25$ non bundle CV + 20% (which is 5$) that make that 30$.

Umm... If you care so much about charity, try not buying lots of em for 1 dollar for giveaways. Spend more on one.

Also, maybe reading the site rules after joining would be an idea? Just maybe?

Then I retract my slightly harsh tone and apologise. Hopefully you'll get why I did that after you've been here a bit and seen the kind of moochery and exloitative nature of some.. Makes you a bit defensive..

Also, I believe you are in violation of "Do not call out submitters in giveaways." rule. Do not be a jerk and assume things.

There was no calling out, as there was nothing said about an offence to rules. That's considered calling out.

Also, take a look at the giveaways listed on here. Alan Wake is flooding the site at the moment, because of the availability of it for so cheap. Almost all of these come from people looking for cheap ways to farm CV. It's a very common practise that many do, and many here despise. The assumption was easily made, as you're among an infinitesimal minority that actually give more than the minimum due to actually caring about the idea, not the CV..

But we can put this all past us, it was honestly just a question, and I did not understand that the * was considered a bundle, I didnt understand what a bundle actually was.

Still doesn't count as calling out as you're not breaking any site rules by doing so. Or rather, I mean, wouldn't be, had you indeed spent 1 buck on the two. That's allowed on the site, so all my post would be counted as is a negative opinion of behaviour..

Out of curiosity; did you even know of / see the FAQ link before I linked it? I get a feeling they really need to make it more directly in your face for new users :/.

Oh and, here's a very useful link for posting on forums / giveaways. It shows how to do stuff

I did actually read the FAQ before, however I never understood what a bundle was to begin with, and I had read it the day I joined up.

You can get more CV out of the bundle games by contributing none bundle games. 20% of your CV from non-bundle games will be added to your bundle CV. So to get the full 50$ CV of your Alan Wake games you must contribute 100$ worth non-bundle games (30$ + 100$/5 = 50$).
