Have you tried a gift LootCrate? You can't guarantee anything particular will be in there besides the teasers, so I don't know if next month will be good or not. It's a gamble, and one I don't personally take.

Is this Warhammer, WH40k, or both? If he plays tabletop/wargame, you could get him dice; Chessex has some pretty cool dice; my brother bought a set because he plays a bunch of tabletop games and their dice are pretty cool. If he does wargaming he will probably need a case box, but that is a more personal decision. It's not a whole gift, but it can add to the gift by giving something customized?

Edit: If he's into 40k, I like the Grey Knights Omnibus. It's some interesting stories, though I think the Horus Heresy box set is a more impressive gift. That said, that's 40k, not Warhammer Fantasy, so I'm a bit out of my league if he's not into 40k.
