Need some info on the keyboards gamers use and for what type of games. If you can tell me what key switch type goes with your keyboard, the better.

I just recently bought a new membrane keyboard (R8 Illuminated) for a very cheap price after retiring my 11-year old keyboard. But when looking at the mechanical type reviews on the net, I do really like to try a good mechanical keyboard. Though in the Philippines, its hard to find shops to buy some famous brands.

So here I am asking for tips from the SG community for what keyboard am I going to buy. Have around 8-10k PhP (around 170-210 USD) for my budget. I usually play Dota 2, CS:GO, and Left 4 Dead 2. I also have some SP games that are RPG, FPS, and RTS.

Also, here is the SGTools protected train (lvl 2). You already know what's gonna happen if you entry is invalid.
If you can notice a style on how I create my GA trains, I'll put you in my WL (1 user only)
1st Hint: Not with the GA genres, but on the manner on how I create them
2nd Hint: Don't mind the GA names
3rd Hint: These are my previous trains. Don't mind the descriptions though. 1st, 2nd, and lastly, the 3rd.

And the winner is: malabagaa

Each GA ends 1 minute after its predecessor =P

Another thing, give me an awesome synonym or replacement word for bump, you will be added in my WL, too.

Update: from conducting research on gaming websites and from the discussion here in SG, I have concluded that the keyboards that are good for purchase are [1st] Poseidon-Z (which is a budget mech keyboard but a great one) and [2nd] Logitech G810 (awesome board at a much higher price but the specs are awesome).

2nd Update: GA by the legend Yirg!

Apocalypse = extreme bump. But I'm not sure I like that.

Style..... good taste. Because I have a lot of those already so it must be good taste.

Got mine awhile back so newer models exist. Mine are Razer.
I use a blackwidow stealth at work and the regular blackwidow at home.

You need to have a nice keyboard when you spend all day on it.

Mechanical keyboards are a bit too costy for me. Mainly because they are fragile and hard to replace due cost.
I use a normal keyboard that can take a hit or two before breaking. Never know when frustration takes over in some games. ;)
Also the cost is less than 10 bucks to buy normal ones.
But that is just me, would want mechanical one too if I could afford one.

Mech boards are sturdier and much stronger than generic boards. What kind of mechs are you talking about? o.O

They can take a hit easily? Never experienced a mechanical keyboard so can't say, but would imagine the more technical they are more fragile they would be too.
Although I have seen very fragile poor quality plastic keyboards on normal keyboards. So maybe generalizing wasn't a good choice on my part.

I'm using a nice but cheap Genius Slimstar i220 since a few years and I like it. I don't need flashy lights or 250000 personal macro keys. I've also never tried a mechanical kb so I could be missing something. In my defense, it'd be quite expensive to get one where I live and it ofc isn't a justified purchase; I don't game professionally so..

I don't remember participating in your previous trains, but I'm guessing if entry is invalid (I haven't entered anything here either) then the user would meet the blacklistroom :P

As for the style, gonna be somewhat stupid and say "private links" since everyone else goes for good taste or things like that, that's all subjective, the beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, something like that.. just like art, who are we to judge? :P

Bump synonym, hmm let me see, I've used -jokingly- stab for another known user, you know who, I've used purr purr too just once and the user liked it but not sure if used again, and I'm also not sure if you'd be interested in using other languages, you didn't explicitly mentioned so.. Bumpinho I've seen many times so cross that one up, "Here's Johnny!" or idk, Pumba?

You can always try Roccat. I owned some of their mice before and the were awesome. Never had a keyboard, but the reviews are cheering :) anyway, def not a Razor for me. They sell very high just for the brand name.

I use the Corsair RGB K70 with Cherry MX Browns. Really like the sound and feel of the keys. Best keyboard I have ever owned. I previously used Razer keyboards, but they have never seemed to last very long.

Joined one, thank you for the chance, powering up, bumporinio or hearts arise...ehhh, at least I tried....
Keyboard is usually the last thing I'm spending my money on. If my computer would be from AAA shelve then I would probably dig the subject.

That's beautiful. Love the simplicity. Never use the number pad anyway. This one's similar in appearance:

I had a keyboard with MX Blue and hated the noise and the scratchy feel. I'm now debating between MX Red and Brown. What didn't you like about the Reds exactly? Too light?

I recently built a gaming PC with extensive research on best mouse, keyboard and monitor for competitive RTS gaming.
Ended up with K70 LUX RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (Cherry MX red). It's the overall best keyboard in the market. Depending on your preference and types of games you play, you may prefer Cherry MX Brown.

The other option is Logitech - G910 ORION SPECTRUM RGB MECHANICAL GAMING KEYBOARD. It has the best software and more macros but doesn't feel as premium as K70. Its also cheaper as it goes on sale frequently ($100 on BestBuy). Although prices may be different in your country.

And brands do matter. They go through a lot of scrutiny and reviews. And unlike CPUs and GPUs their prices don't free fall. Infact the mouse that I bought six years ago for less than $100 now cost around $250. It is arguably the best mouse ever made.

I just have the keyboard that came with my computer. It isn't a gaming keyboard by any stretch of the imagination.

Thank you for the train!:)
