What brand and model is your keyboard?
I've had Tesoro Durandal Ultimate with MX browns for many years now. At the time it was one of very few mechanical keyboards that came with Czech key layout. It looks pretty ok, no really outrageous ~gaming designs. It's plastic but quite durable, I've only managed to break the arm rest so far and I really don't treat my keyboards gently. It also survived 6 drink spills so far, 1 beer, 2 cokes and 3 waters.

I can't really help you, Imma joystick person, but logitech periferals are really nice to use.

I've personally had good experiences with Azio brand keyboards. I'm currently using an Azio Mech5, but it's a bit too big for my new desk so I'm also looking to upgrade pretty soon haha.

My friend suggested me a local online shop here. Not much available branded keyboards in PH. Came up with DMC R8 Illuminated keyboard (possibly made in china). Its a membrane keyboard that costs around 10 USD. Still just fine in using for CSGO and Dota2. Planning to buy though a branded one when I'll build a new one like next year. If you're asking about what I come up with suggestions here and research thru websites, Poseidon Z is a good choice, then Logitech G810.

The Poseidon Z is available here and is within my budget. The G810, not so much, and is also very similar to the G610 which is. I need to see what are what are differences to make an educated decision. Last time I bought a mechanical keyboard I ended up selling it two weeks later. I really hated the MX Blue switches and also disliked the tenkeyless form factor. Live and learn I guess...

G810 has romer-g keys. Exclusive to Logitech. If ur going to buy g810, buy the latest one as they have 2 models

I don't think I can justify paying more for these switches. Cherry MX is supposed to be good enough.

They last 50℅ more with 70M presses and some keys even withstand even more than 70M. That's what they show in tomshardware

Most likely by the time a Cherry MX switch dies on me I'll be happy to have it as an excuse to upgrade ;-)

IMO, nothing really because cherry has been around for quite some time. Although you really need to pick the right kind. Red, Brown, and Corsair exclusive rapid fire are famous for gaming. Romer-Gs are just a mix of brown and red but they massively upgraded it's durability and lighting for RGB is best of all

I'm using a Corsair K70 right now (non RGB). I'm quite happy with it. If not for this, I'd consider Ducky keyboards as well. Oh, I forgot to add I actually tested out those display / demo units before purchasing just to get an actual feel for it.

Looked into buying a game keyboard myself two months ago, my final choices were:

Hotkeys like a dedicated volume up and down button. Did not decide yet, still happy with my Logitech Wave keyboard and it's much more silent in comparison with mechanical keyboards. Heard good things about the Razer Blackwidow also, but not having hotkeys is a deal breaker for me. When somebody walks in I'd like to mute my audio with one button.

I too want hotkeys for media and volume controls. Currently I programmed my Logitech G13 for this, but dedicated keys on the keyboard would be nicer.
What advantage do you see for the K70 over the very similar (but cheaper) Logitech G610?

I've not looked at that one before. Seems it uses the same switches, so no difference there and price-wise it's also close. Bad point for me is that it's missing the wrist pad. Also not having RGB is not nice in that price range (not sure if I'd use it myself, but with RGB you could also set it to just white all the time - but at least you have the option to do so and also when in-game to highlighting certain controls).

I eventually bought a Logitech G213 keyboard. It's not a mechanical keyboard, but it feels very nice. Much better than most other membrane keyboards and definitely nicer than the scratchy-feeling mechanical keyboard that I briefly owned and disliked (CM Storm QuickFire Rapid with Cherry MX Blue switches).
I debated between the Logitech G610, G810 and Corsair K70 Lux, but they each had things I disliked (other than price). The G610 and K70 are available locally with switches that are less than optimal for me - MX Red is too light to press, MX Brown has a similar feel as the MX Blue I disliked, but without the metallic sound. The G810 uses Romer-G switches, but I was hesitant to buy such an expensive keyboard without first trying it, and I couldn't find a store that agrees to open the package and let me try (or allow me to return it if I don't like the feel). The price and lack of wrist rest convinced me to stay away. BTW, I use an old keyboard at work with Cherry MX White switches and I really like it, but I couldn't find anything similar (e.g. MX Black switches) locally, except Ducky Shine 5, and this one is missing media keys, so no go.
Things I already like about the G213:
+ Switches feel nice! Not too light, not too hard.
+ Less noisy than mechanical keyboards (though noisier than my previous membrane keyboard).
+ Wrist rest
+ Media keys
+ Supported by Logitech Gaming software (which I use with my other peripherals and love).
+ The per-key RGB is a nice gimmick. It's nice though that the keyboard lights are different when logged in and when the machine is locked. I can immediately know if I need to enter password to unlock even if the screen is in standby mode.
+ Spill resistant (not planning to check how effective this is, but it can't hurt). Update (22/4/17): A week or so ago I split some scotch on the keyboard (unintentionally of course). I turned it over to remove access liquid, sprayed some water to clean it, and wiped with a cloth. Not sure if this is the correct way to handle this, but the keyboard works perfectly with no hint of issues.
I'm less fond of:
- ISO layout (tall Enter key) is inconsistent with other keyboards I use that are ANSI layout (wide Enter key). It's not that one is better than the other, but using different layouts means that I'll continue to occasionally press backslash ('\') instead of Enter.
- No mic or headphone ports
- No USB hub or passthrough
- Caps/Num/ScrollLock keys indicators are a bit too bright and don't have the names of function labeled.
All in all, it's been only a day since I bought it, but I think this is a beginning of beautiful friendship :-)

Nice :) I like that it's silent if you are normally working on it, don't want to have the old type-writer sound when typing in Word :P
I think this is a good balanced keyboard with the best of both worlds.. You'll get used to the enter button very quick, I also had the luck of getting a "width" and "high" version in the past..

In terms of noise I'd say it's somewhere between typical membrane and mechanical. Not quiet by any means, just quieter than mechanical.

Ducky doesn't exist here. The "cheapest" good one is ozone strike pro in here. Never played with it. A friend of mine has another one, can't remember the name.

I don't own one (yet) so no experience but I'm in the market. The SteelSeries 6GV/2 (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/xrNp99/steelseries-keyboard-64255) seems to be a popular choice among FPS gamers. Also the Fnatic Gear Rush G1 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DKZGQWW/) or the Logitech G810 (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gqmxFT/logitech-keyboard-g810). The SteelSeries and the Fnatic use Cherry MX switches and the Logitech uses Romer-G switches.
I was thinking I'd probably go with Cherry MX Red switches but after reading/listening to various reviews I think I'd like to try MX Brown, MX Clear or MX Speed (silver) first. The keyboard I've currently got my eye on is the Corsair K65 Rapidfire (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qTnG3C/corsair-keyboard-ch9110014na) which uses relatively new Cherry MX Speed switches.

Need some info on the keyboards gamers use and for what type of games. If you can tell me what key switch type goes with your keyboard, the better.
I just recently bought a new membrane keyboard (R8 Illuminated) for a very cheap price after retiring my 11-year old keyboard. But when looking at the mechanical type reviews on the net, I do really like to try a good mechanical keyboard. Though in the Philippines, its hard to find shops to buy some famous brands.
So here I am asking for tips from the SG community for what keyboard am I going to buy. Have around 8-10k PhP (around 170-210 USD) for my budget. I usually play Dota 2, CS:GO, and Left 4 Dead 2. I also have some SP games that are RPG, FPS, and RTS.
Also, here is the SGTools protected train (lvl 2). You already know what's gonna happen if you entry is invalid.

Update: from conducting research on gaming websites and from the discussion here in SG, I have concluded that the keyboards that are good for purchase are [1st] Poseidon-Z (which is a budget mech keyboard but a great one) and [2nd] Logitech G810 (awesome board at a much higher price but the specs are awesome).
