I have started to try giving my GA creators a quick thought on what I thought about the game. It doesn't take a lot of time, at worst the creator doesn't care but at best I'm making someone happy to know that their gift was enjoyed. I just know that it would make me happy if I received a message that someone liked my gift, and, you know, you act the way you'd like others to act towards you.

only if i know the person or talked with them about the game, so like 5 times

It depends on if a gifter has the game I won in their library and if they played it or not. Or on the description. For example, if they stated that they wanted to play it sometime in the future.
I left such comments a couple of times after I liked a game a lot. But usually, I don't feel like writing about a game that the creator didn't want in the first place (not their genre, just bundle leftover, etc). Also, I don't want to write a negative (or neutral) reviews, because it's subjective and may influence ga creator to not even try the game.

Every single time. Not initially, but I went back and added such comments to the ones I hadn't already done (except the few from GAs that I couldn't get into anymore).

I/m pretty sure I've reported back when I've actually finished every win.
A lot of them, I played but didn't finish, so I didn't comment yet. I probably should if I've decided not to play it again.
I'm getting pretty behind on playing wins though. Only 33%. :(

I do when i really enjoy a game and especially when the giveaway is one where one of the requirements requested by the giveaway creator is to play a certain amount or get a number of achievements within a time frame. If its a game from Indiegala/dig as an example, almost definitely no unless there was a reason i wanted to reach out to the creator .

I personally really like the idea of receiving feedback on how the recipient enjoyed/disliked the game, although to be honest most of the games i give away are the indiegala bundle ones so most are ummm not the greatest.
My main concern is that there are already a lot of people who don't like entrants saying "thanks for the chance" when they enter a giveaway as it generates lots of comments for the gifter to check, and also people may inadvertently irritate others by saying the giveaway game was not very good or enjoyable. And then we invariable get people grumping about being blacklisted.
Perhaps CG? could add a simple checkbox to the giveaway creation form saying something like, I am happy to hear feedback on the game from the winner.
Just my 10cents* worth

I've think I've only done that once, but if gifters would like it I'd be more then happy to let them know my thoughts after playing.

I've done it a few times for games I really enjoyed but usually I post it after actually 100% the game.
I've even posted comments years after winning a game to let them know I'd finally completed everything in there and really enjoyed it and surprisingly some of those comments have been well received and appreciated too ^-^
I definitely recommend it if you're the type of person to really want to give a genuine and extra bit of thanks!

Interesting you'd bring it up because I actually tend to try to take the time to write a little note of gratitude and info about why I enjoyed playing through a won game if it was especially enjoyable. Most users usually ignore/don't notice it though, as I rarely get a reply, but I like to think maybe one of them will appreciate the gesture.
I've been a bit unsure if doing so was a good move though (as I was thinking maybe it feels spammy/annoying to giveaway creators to receive messages about old giveaways they've made), but looking at the comment here, I'm a bit reassured since there are quite a few people here who do the same and/or don't mind people doing so.

Huh, this thread has been eye-opening. I've never received such a message as a gifter but I left a second thank you message once (quite some time after I beat the game actually). At the time, I went back-and-forth on whether it would be deemed annoying. Ultimately, I decided to leave the message because there were additional reasons why that win in particular meant a lot to me (tl;dr it introduced me to a franchise that helped distract me from irl issues). It's nice to know that people do leave this type of message though, even if it's not common. Such messages are a nice gesture if you've particularly appreciated/enjoyed a game, especially since so many wins on this site never even get played.

Normally I do leave a comment after I finish playing the game. I started doing it 2 years ago. I saw the concept of giving feedback to gifter in one of the group I joined back then, it might be Playing Matters or Actually Playing Games. I liked the idea of feedback so I started leaving comments whenever I could.

so i was thinking.. i always feel good about beating my sg wins or when a winner of one of my giveaways gives more than just a thanks by telling me how much they've been wanting to play that game. i think it'd be good to know that a game i've given away has actually been played and enjoyed. maybe leave a comment after finishing a win you especially enjoyed with an extra thanks and a short anecdotal review or something like that. i know some groups do this at some scale, but i'm curious if there's any precedent in regards to public giveaways.
i'm certainly not suggesting this should be common practice on top the obligatory "thanks" for winning the game. simply wondering what you guys think about it, or if anyone already does it.
