Consider the following: Marvel is now owned by Disney which now also owns Lucas Arts. We could see in the near future Marvel vs Capcom vs Disney vs Starwars. Also imagine the roster for the next Kingdom Hearts game.

For any fighting game you want to use a controller, keys on a keyboard just do not play well at all with fighting games.
