Hey guys, I wonder if we get our points back for joining fake giveaways or giveaways that we don't receive the game.

If the "fake giveaway" ends by timer, then no.

If the "fake giveaway" ends by giveaway deletion, then yes. (deletion before timer runs out)

i got points back on fake borderlands 2 giveaway i won and that ended by timer

after few weeks got deleted by mod as fake and points returned

Finally win a great game...fake.
I'd be pissed off if that happened to me. Already entered 300+ and that takes a lot of time, to "win" a fake then...

Well why does it matter anyways, points are regenerating pretty quick before the said fake giveaway is deleted

Not necessarily, being as it depends on the new giveaways getting posted. Assuming even half of the new giveaways are interesting for you, not having the points from that fake giveaway back could mean you'd be unable to enter all of them, or that you'll need to remove your entry for another giveaway.
