Playfire used to be a very nice way to earn GMG wallet.
Last couple of months we see less rewards, coupons and achievements that are very hard to get or games that no one owns.
Its too bad, but this was bound to happen. You cant simply give away that much money forever.
At least they got an awful lot of people who now know about their site. Seems like they got enough.
The first months I got somewhere between 5-15 euros each month. Now its just a couple of cents.

But I'm happy, I got some very nice games for free just by playing games. I have 4.50 euros left, with the rest I purchased:

  • Resident Evil HD Remaster
  • Rocket Knight
  • Hatoful Boyfriend
  • Final Fantasy III

So, do you think Playfire is done? And which games did you get?

i still have over 100 dollars in rewards to spend, but i cant decide what to get, i may wait for GTA 5

i miss the old days of playfire tho, i wish i would have started right when it started. maybe i would have earned double what i have now if i would have

i was lucky to find a good few games i enjoyed playing thanks to playfire, but i admit i have no life and spent ages achievement hunting for what i needed. but i dont mind wasting my time lol

I know; I jumped on the bandwagon late, but still managed to earn about five dollars. I've actually had an issue where I occasionally have the achievements already, which can be obnoxious.

I'm amazed that you haven't been banned. They banned almost all of my (non-cheating) friends that I know earned over $50....

I had saved up over $70 and spent it in one of their major sales, think it was one of those "7 Days of Deals" sales. Was banned less than a week later.

I only got a few games. Maybe 3 or so. I mostly earned my credit from first plays as I don't have a lot of time to spend on games lately and I wasn't going to cheat.

Now that those rewards have dried up so much I'm done with it. I spent the last of my credit over Christmas. Just waiting for them to unlink my Steam account. They said I have to wait until any giveaways they're doing are over.

I miss the old playfire too, especially since I joined too late and got to enjoy it for a brief time.

I managed to buy Tomb Raider: GOTY and Civ 5 expansion Brave New world with my Reward.

Only got like System Shock 2, a Painkiller Hell and Damnation DLC and such with my playfire credits.

Cant complain much though, although i lost most interest about it, except the rare occasions they do some decent promo that is

It seems to promote the newest games mainly which people here are slow to own as most wait for bundles or sales.

I kinda-hate playfire since I can't play games with achievos since I'm afraid I'll lose money :(

Jokes aside, got around 50 pounds out of it, bought Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition (and played it to get money from achievos :P), will probably use them during Winter Sale.

the next big sale is probably summer sale right considering winter sale just ended?? im sure gmg will do it

Yeah, I was talking about sale in around 12 months. I don't think there's going to be much cheap-enough-for-my-wallet games during Summer Sale.

well i cant really criticize them for the rewards system, yea they could have done it differently and more efficient, but what i miss is actually the time before that, when they had a solid discount for games (not like now) that none had, the time when vouchers could have been use with credits, (not like now) since you cant use the voucher discount with credits you actually pay more on title then on other sites...

depending on your steam library size you lost from few $ up to 200$+ worth of GMG credit ;)

Final Fantasy III (2 copies)
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantsay XIII-2
Murdered: Soul Suspect

Although some of the credit earned was from last winter when they were often giving £0.10 with each game purchased on the GMG store, occasionally more. Alien Rage Unlimited as an example gave £0.50 at the time just for buying it.

How did you people GET so much? I used playfire, did a lot of the required things and have had only 2.49 euro's for the past year or so. Never spent any of it... Not like it will let me use it on GmG anyway for some stupid reason.

Damnit, I'd have LOVED the amount for the Resident Evil HD. Maybe playfire doesn't work with US games.

Well it used to be crazy, lots of new rewards every day, often on games that tons of people had that were in bundles and the like. The value amount of some of the rewards was 0.50 and quite a lot at 0.25 as well.

I didn't really try too hard. At it's peak I think I could have got £3-£4 per week if going for it, trying to get every reward I could have got and sometimes even more. That's not something I really did as I found I didn't like playing to a schedule.

Well it was good untill coupons started, that was moment I stopped using it.

Before all these changes I used site everyday and I earned enough to get some really good dlc and games like:
Batman AA GOTY, Portal 1, Season Pass for Bioschok Infinite, BioShock 2: Minerva’s Den, Batman Arkham Origins, Euro Truck Simulator 2: Go East DLC.

Now IMO it's not worth your time, as soon as they started rewarding with coupons I knew that's it for me, I grateful for their old system, it was good and fun, thank you gmg and playfire for that, however magic is gone and it's over for me, I don't wanna use my time just to get coupons.

The Darkness II
Contrast
XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Batman Arkham Origins
Duke Nukem Forever
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
State of Decay

Thief Trilogy (1-2- The Metal Age)
Legacy of Kain trilogy
The Orange Box
DLCs for Darksiders II (The ones that give actual content, not only weapons)
I loved the achievement-hunting part of it, but indeed in last weeks-months it fell really short. Back in the time when you cold get 0.9Ł for each game's achievements... that was a fine and intresting time, almost adventurous, I played quite a few games only for these achievements and nejoyed them greatly. But the magic is now gone. No hard feelings towards GMG because they already gave me the mentioned game. (Though they could ***** stop giving out free games for "linking your playfire account to your steam account". Playfire got pretty mediocre and rewards always go for new accounts, and that's just silly. They should get and keep customers, not accounts...)
