Playfire used to be a very nice way to earn GMG wallet.
Last couple of months we see less rewards, coupons and achievements that are very hard to get or games that no one owns.
Its too bad, but this was bound to happen. You cant simply give away that much money forever.
At least they got an awful lot of people who now know about their site. Seems like they got enough.
The first months I got somewhere between 5-15 euros each month. Now its just a couple of cents.

But I'm happy, I got some very nice games for free just by playing games. I have 4.50 euros left, with the rest I purchased:

  • Resident Evil HD Remaster
  • Rocket Knight
  • Hatoful Boyfriend
  • Final Fantasy III

So, do you think Playfire is done? And which games did you get?

what is the best website to earn "free" money to purchase games like this? is this still viable or is there a site that I should be trying with steam gift cards?

Just earned another £1.20 for my Playfire wallet, just playing 3 games.

If they would have Gta5 Steamkeys I would already get it.

This new (May 29th, 2015) Playfire development should have been a new thread instead of necro-posted.

That being said, I use Playfire and would like to chat about it.

I have some credit to spend, but I wanted to save/grow it some more. There's nothing I want on sale at GMG for less than what I have, and it feels good to have saved up enough to get an new game on sale. The first credit-purchase I made I got the VIP price on pre-ordering Valkyria Chronicles. That was a cool feeling.

I hope the "play Bastion for an hour" reward works, because I reinstalled Bastion and played it for two hours. BTW, wish me luck finishing the achievements. My right thumb hurt after 2 hours of trying to finish "About the Author." The farthest I've got was "U is for Ura," I think. Maybe V.

I was ticked when I missed the Spintires sale at GMG, and then they're giving rewards for it this week (a few days after the sale suddenly ended).

GMG, you need to tell us how long we have before the sales end. Steam does it, IndieGala does it, Bundlestars does it, etc. etc. What the hell, GMG?

All I remember getting with Playfire Rewards was Valkyria Chronicles and Banner Saga. Not bad for getting free games.

I ended up purchasing Dark Souls II and Dirt Rally with the credit that I earned, and I still have $12 in credits left. =P I got Dirt Rally through the pretty nice VIP section, and, if I remember right, I ended up getting Dark Souls II by applying a coupon on the game and using my credit at the same time, but they fixed that up so you aren't able to do that anymore.

The reward system, when it first started, was fantastic. But, it was understandable that it had to change, as it didn't take much to get a lot of credit off of it if you already had the games and never played them yet. It was working out pretty well, too well, but ugh, it was great.

After they changed things around, though, I rarely even attempted getting any achievements because you basically got nothing out of it, and most of the time it was for new games that they wanted you to buy from their store.

I'm interested in seeing what they do with it now, but I'm doubting that it's going to be anything worth doing. It will probably be something along the lines of earning a tiny amount of points to put towards a chance at winning a game, instead of giving store credit. =\

Swords and Soldiers: Super Saucy Sausage Fest
The Orange Box (but shortly after i got the Valve Pack through a trade, so kinda double)

Got 1 euro for playing 2 games (Letter Quest and Instant Dungeon) for 1 hour last week, so it isn't always newer AAA games, just doesn't happen alot.
