So I was thinking of organizing my library. It's getting messy. I have to hunt for some of my games. Over 300 games now. I was just curious how you keep your library tidy? So I can get some ideas to sort out my games.

Man, you are crazy !
I can't imagine how long it took to sort everything. But that's a really good way to sort games, for sure.

looks good but too much work - i made a suggestion months ago in steamforum to let us sort our games in library by tags. All games have their tags anyway and would be cool to just pick a tag in a list and all games with this tag get a green name or something.

would be very usefull and would help you with your library too, i guess^^

i have somewhere around 1246 games. most of them came from bundles and i haven't played them yet, so they're in categories for which bundle they came from, with a number according to the order i bought the bundles. i'm currently playing games from the 15th out of 224 bundles. i may never catch up!

my other categories are completed, currently playing, multi-coop, multiplayer, remaining achievements, and unplayed (for games acquired not through bundles)

Every new addition to the library: new
While playing:
new -> continue (also i use "add to favourite" as "actively playing now")
When i'm done with it:
cont -> done or trash, optional *fav

All genres autocategorized with Depressurizer (multicat by genre).
Some selected game series or developers get an own category by hand.

Best is to have:

AAA = 1st priority games (20-30 games)

Games = 2nd priority games (I will play them - maybe)

Finished = finished games and do not want to play again.

Unsorted

Junk

(374 games in my library)

I don't organize it for two reasons.
1.I'm too damn lazy to do it.
2.I don't have that many games installed that I would need to organize it.

  • completed (// 100% of achievements, entire story, yada yada..)
  • ignore (// garbage from bundles, free games that suck, etc..)
  • not so great (// games I've played for a bit, but didn't like or those who seem nice but I don't wanna play them too soon...)
  • yet2Bplayed (// not currently installed, but seemingly awesome!)
  • Games (// standard category for all currently installed games, working on 100%, playing for sheer fun, blabla..)

Currently over 1100 games, most of them are from bundles.
Games not played: 773 (68%)

Favourites has a dozen or so games, that I see myself playing.
Hidden for games, I know I never intend to play.
Rest are games that are playable, but will never be my first choice.

If I want to play, I always know what game I want before I even open Steam. And its usually always in favourites.
