Coolio. I still don't know why the phone one was called HB5.

It was the fifth bundle by humble bundle?

Nope? There were like more 4 or 5 before the Android bundle.

Man, not even close. Christ, I'd be surprised if it was any less than the tenth bundle by Humble Bundle.

Last 2 kinda sucked. Can't complain for the price, though.

Last 2? You mean Mojang (which was for charity, not for games) and HiB4 (which was epic o.O)?

Mojang and the Android one.

aah, yeah right, forgot about Android. Yeah, that one wasn't the best.
And Mojang, like I said, was mainly just for charity ^.^ the games were basically just an extra :P

Yeah, the Android one wasn't great, although my S2 has a few extra DECENT games as a result and Anomaly: Warzone Earth was one of the few games I've played in the last year that I'd got really addicted to!
I gave them a dollar for the Mojang (about 70p for me), but I can't say as I was taken by any of the games. That said, I couldn't make anything better in such a short space of time...

The Android bundle had great games, but fo people who participated in the previous bundles it was kind of a repeat I guess. For my part I learned about those bundle from the various Android websites I follow so these games were mostly new to me. (Except World of Goo but that allowed me to add it to my Steam library as I didn't have it on there.)

HIB4 didn't suck (I mean, it's all opinion, but I doubt many people would agree it sucks). Unless you're counting the Mojang thing, then I retract this statement.

e: already beaten too it.

At first i wasn't too thrilled with the Android HIB, but i got it anyway. The games were actually pretty good. Didn't care for Anomaly in the beginning, but i started playing it and i am hooked.

HIB 4 is still the best. I was late to the party, so i had to trade Mirror's Edge ($5) for it. Well worth it for Super Meat Boy alone.

In fact, no it wasn't. That's not because Steam says "Humble Indie Bundle 5" that it is the HIB 5.
It was the Humble Bundle for Android (or whatever it was called). The "true" HIB 5 will only launch in a few months.

Well, it has always been like that, there has been the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle, Humble Frozen Synapse Bundle, Humble Voxatron Debut and Humble Introversion Bundle before this one.

It's the first time the Steam registry said "Humble Indie Bundle 5" instead of the "real" name of the bundle, but I am pretty sure it's only a "trick" to avoid to spoil the name and the content of the bundle before it is officially launched.

The numbered Humble Indie Bundles usually are released (more or less) every 6 months.

I'm pretty sure it was just "android," not five. Even if it was listed as 5 on steam... I've had some odd listings for others I believe... I just can't recall really. :(

When I request an email for all my HIB keys, Android shows up as "Product: Humble Bundle for Android" rather than "Humble Indie Bundle #5"

I believe the numbered bundles all have the previous bundle as a bonus. Considering that, I find it likely that they'll do it again.

The Android Bundle was labelled as Humble Indie Bundle 5 in CDR records, so I wouldn't say that this is a numbered bundle yet.

I agree that it kind of gets annoying that theres a new indie bundle every goddamn week. It was nice when there was only HIB, something you could look forward to. But now you buy one and the next wave of bundles is already flooding in.

12 years ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Then again most of the other bundles aren't really a most-buy. BeMine was extremely good (the offered games and goodies - not the organization). Some Indie Royales had a decent title in them, if you really wanted that one. But on the whole it's only the Humble Bundle that was always great. I've spent some fine hours with each bundle, even with the Mojam bundle.

The Humble Bundle for Android #2 features:

  • the meditative 3D puzzler, Zen Bound 2;
  • the indie parkour platformer, Canabalt;
  • the critically acclaimed, steampunk, indie puzzler, Cogs;
  • an Android tablet special -- the epic, old-school role-playing game, Avadon: The Black Fortress;
  • and for users who pay more than the average price, the vibrant, side-scrolling strategy title, Swords & Soldiers.

This one is listed as "Humble Indie Bundle 6" in the Steam registry (and the first Android Bundle was listed as "Humble Indie Bundle 5"), so the numbered series is kinda messed up by now.
