Very tempting but i played through on gamepass and i feel like this has gotta be in a humble choice soon if they gonna put it at 90% off. Pretty good story game though.

To give you buyer's remorse.
You can still refund and buy again if you didn't go over 2 hours of playtime and 2 weeks..

XD
Thankfully I didn't buy this one but those who did would definitely feel the sting if they exceeded that limit since then.

Damn, I'd buy it but I'm boycotting publishers who bumped their prices after valve's botched "recommended prices" change in October 2022 (as a result of which I'd have to pay 15% more than USAnians and 8% more than EUnians). Oh well. It'll probably land in a bundle very soon, as the others wrote.

Please don't use USA and EUnian (sounds like union) in the same sentence, you scare the US corporations. Thank you <3

It won't be in a bundle, there are no Steam keys for it.

Their loss I guess. I'll buy it when they pull their heads back from their respective asses and revert to the fair pricing.

What is exactly wrong with their pricing?

The game used to cost 71.99 PLN, which was valve's default recommendation for $19.99 games.
In October 2022, when the dollar was at an all-time-high, valve updated their pricing recommendations (pressured by some publishers, no doubt) and promised to re-evaluate them every year. PLN recommendations were changed from 71.99 to 91.99. There are several problems with this.

  1. The dollar has since fallen a lot, 91.99 PLN is currently 23.37 USD and 21.23 EUR.
  2. Many of the devs did not change prices for their old games, but some of them did - these are the ones I'm boycotting. IMO there is zero reason (outside of greed of course) to bump the price for an old game like that.
  3. Most of new games are using steam's recommendations without any consideration for current exchange rates or purchasing power
  4. As of today, Valve did not re-evaluate their recommendations as promised.
  5. This is a problem for many other regions, and for some others (Turkiye, Agrentina) they recently jacked up the prices even more.

In effect, certain demographics are driven away from steam due to 1. some devs being greedy, 2. some devs being unaware that valve are lazy nihilists. I'm mad at devs #1 and at valve, so I'm boycotting all the games that use the new prices and either buy them in places that use the old pricing (or allow buying in usd/eur), or not buying at all.

It's not good that Valve didn't re-evaluate their prices again, it should be done on regular intervals for all other currencies. I remember when EUR was really strong against the dollar (1.2-1.4x) and when the prices in store for many games were the same as in dollars, that really sucked. It got changed and for a while recommended price for a $20 game were 16.79€, then dollar got stronger so the price in Europe was finally cheaper. But the last change happened when dollar was the strongest in a while, so recommended changed to 19.50€. From that time EUR got stronger 15% but the prices are still the same.

But we can look that from other angle too. If PLN price stayed the same you would be paying much less than most of the Europe, and that difference is larger than you are paying now (albeit in other direction).
Changes in Turkey and Argentina had to change because of their volatile currency, it gets exponentially worse every year and prices were ridiculously low. Paying dollar or below that for a $20 title wasn't fair either. Are the prices affordable now is whole another debate that I won't get into since I have no knowledge of their economic situation. Argentina have it far worse since they pay exorbitant taxes on digital purchases (155% last time I checked), but to be fair Steam can't take that into account when recommending prices for that region. I can also complain since my region doesn't get any regional pricing, but it is what it is...

From that time EUR got stronger 15% but the prices are still the same.

So you can see that the problem affects the whole Europe pretty much. And Valve is in no hurry to keep their own promise.

But we can look that from other angle too. If PLN price stayed the same you would be paying much less than most of the Europe, and that difference is larger than you are paying now (albeit in other direction).

Yes, god forbid I'd pay slightly less than Western Europeans who have 2-4x more purchasing power. Before regional pricing for PL, we were paying in euro, so it was the same as the rest of the EU. Introducing regional pricing was nice because it made the games ~10% cheaper so I bought more on Steam and less in other stores (HB shop for example). But with the new "recommendations" it's the other way round (for new games and devs who bumped prices of their old games). It's frustrating to me but ultimately it's their loss. I have enough games already, anyway.

Turkey and Argentina got screwed, but it should be noted in their case it was less "fuck these guys specifically" from the developers as they were simply rolled into the new region-wide cagtegories that were created. The two bad parts are:

  1. Not every publisher has implemented these new prices.
  2. If not implemented the prices default to the closest "base" region, which here in Latin America is the US store.

this is because they saw nobody bought it for a old discount, sales with 90% are x-times more higher… also Ubi now trying it wit higher discounts…

Fuck, I only have $0.31 in my Steam wallet right now. Why do they have to do these deep discounts mere days after the winter sale ended?
Ugh, I guess it's time to sell more trading cards.

My favorite walking sim ever, and one of my favorite game experiences in general. To anyone who enjoys a good story based game with fleshed out interesting characters I recommend it.

Bought it for double in November lol. Maybe buying games in batches, and then forgetting about them is not good for one's wallet on the long term ^^

I almost fell into the same trap in November! I'm glad I was patient :)

Agreed about not buying games in batches, especially on Steam. Sales almost always repeat, so there's no reason to FOMO. I try to only buy games when I think I can play them soon. Doesn't always work out that way, but that's the goal.

Very engaging story, can't go wrong for this price.

If you're worried about the horror tag, there are two very minor "jumpscares", the real one is optional off-path in an abandoned house.
