What does this have to do with weed besides attempt of humour? And what are the money bags for, any use for them or just more points?
Also, what is it a project for, grade school, high school, college?
Sorry if i'm too harsh, you know what your teachers are expecting, but it doesn't look very good, it looks like you put more time in jokes then in game design and game ideas.

Lol I made a previous game also named weed killer so I just kept the name, I might make the enemies weed. Money bags give you 250 points.
The project is for highschool.

Ok, some actual suggestions:
As somebody stated above make the gun turn with mouse and bullets come out of the gun. Either change the name or make the game have more to do with weed. I'm not sure what to say about background, you might want to change it, but i'm not sure what i'd suggest. You could make some kind of progression to buy guns with money or something. Maybe add some powerups. It might be better to make enemies come out the side of the screen so they don't spawn on you, but that might not be what you want i guess. If you add weed or something like that you could make dead weed stay on the ground and you don't have to change the background much. It might be neat to make multiple levels, but i'm not sure how you'd make that and in what way to do it to make it fair and not too difficult to program. It would make the dead weed on the ground thing not take up too much memory, if you decide to go down that route, java can be a memory hog.

Ok, so,
1 - End this weed nonsense(red paint balls killing weed? what?), you are making this more of a really bad flash game, then an actually serious end project.
1.1 - Gotta say thought that putting weed in the tittle of the game will probably attract attention to your project which is good, you can use that. But remove "joint" from the tittle and make the red balls become This, actual "bad garden weeds".
2 - add different guns and enemies, this makes the game have some replay value.
2.1 - add timing for when the new guns/enemies will appear, this way it feels like the game is progressing instead of just giving a random gun at the start and then the player using a pistol at the end.
3 - Change the background, you are looking for something like this LINK preferably with an upper view.
3.1 - you can add barriers that will block/slow your movement, this way the player won't just keep running in circles all the game.
4 - The money bag, you should add something more to it than just points, like after you hit 1k "moneys" a random gun spaws (balance the game so it doesn't spaw too many guns).

There should be upgrades. If there's money, there are upgrades. Add something like more health, more ammo to start with, and even more weapons!

The map size is too small, player should have more space to breath.
The enemy spawn rate is high at start, which is not good 'cause it's make people give up soon. It should increase over time or by stages. You shouldn't spam enemy too close to the player, it's make player feel unfair and rage.
You game is a shooting game but it's fail to make me have a feel about it. Enemy only need 1 hit to kill? You should add another type of enemy to create more atmosphere.
And the Monster AI is bad, they just follow up player coordinates rigidly.

I don't know if someone said it or not, but maybe when you pick an item up it should say "+30 ammo" or something like that, just so the player knows what they've actually picked up. I know it's obvious from the pictures, but the actual value is unknown.
oh, and also the hit detection for the money pickups seems a lot smaller than the pills and the ammo.

-The black circle should be a brain
-the bullet should look like a neurons or something
-different types of enemy. maybe every time the player moves to the next round, he is introduced with a new type of enemy
example: Type 1: Bigger, tougher, but slower. Type 2: Faster but weaker. Type 3: Can shoot at player.
-Boss At the end of a round, maybe finish 3 rounds then fight a boss.
-leveling and increasing difficulty as you progress.
-Different types of weapons, unlocked from leveling.
example: instead of bullets, it's a beam with a cool down, shotgun, machine gun, but you move slower. etc.
-Instead of the briefcase with money, it's immune system (whatever that looks like)

as you can see it is a work of art however I need your suggestions.
