I traded a few Early Access games with someone and when I activated them steam said e. g. "Dig or Die for Beta Testing".
I've never gotten that Beta Testing line when redeeming other Early Access games. Does that mean that they are only valid until the end of Early Access or is there nothing for me to worry about?

Sometimes keys will say beta even though it will give you the full game to keep. I can't be sure in this case though.

Nothing to worry about it, is just the name of the package of the keys generated.

So, independent from the game it's always a full game? He said he got it from a developer.

Yes, it is the full game...but the developer can delete the whole package where this key came from (every key inside this package), packages like this is labeled to press/review/test only. It'll depend of the developer only, but still, it's the complete game.

Ok. Well, he said I should get back to him if it disappeared from my library. We'll see. Thanks for the information.

The same here. What did happen ultimately? Did the key get revoked in the end?
I understand it depends on the specific developer's choice/habit; I ask just to get the general picture on how this kind of keys are managed by Steam and/or the Devs.
Thank you.

The person you just replied to hasn't been online for 5 months so you'll most likely not get an answer from them.

Generally speaking unless it's a large scale beta test for an online game AND the dev announces they'll get revoked afterwards those keys hardly ever get revoked. They just use leftover keys they had lying around.

Well, it depends. Sometimes it's a full game that you will keep forever, it's just that key was generated on the very start and was supposed to be used for beta test. Sometimes though developers revoke such keys after some time. Usually, if the game is in the store for quite long - it means it's safe to assume the game won't be revoked.

This is a 6 year old thread that keeps getting necroed, and answering whether it's safe is now well past the question.
