Yeah I don't get it, Humble does similar stuff and it doesn't make sense. Not sure if publishers or stores are to blame but either way it's certainly annoying

I think I figured it out... (if you're only seeing -27% OFF)
Go to Fanatical, use their search bar and search for Chenso, you will get two results, paid and free version.
Add the free one to your cart directly from the search results and you should be able to get it without VPN.

After a few tries I got it to work through Opera VPN set to America, didn't work with other options, and it activated as "Chenso Club - Retail - [Digital] (PRC-restricted)". So the key is (almost) worldwide, they're just being dicks about it by excluding a bunch of countries.

Thanks for the reply. I did try China and a couple of other countries - they all showed that the key could not be activated in those countries according to Fanatical. Appreciate the information (and honestly did not think of googling it, lol).

I used Opera's VPN. Opera set it to "Europe". It seems I got UK according to Fanatical's page. Worked smoothly.

thanks, but had issues with a captcha error, 1st time trying and it said something about multiple IP tries, someone else told me it was cookies problem.
Also last year's cakeday had Steam locked prevented me from buyin myself something and also receiving gifts for my bd, that was Fanatical site attempt with vpn for I dont remember which game. Never again.
If they only did this later for the blocked regions, I could wait, so long as I dont have to use vpn, but nope they wont.
TL;DR: they require you to log in both email and sync steam account, also captcha TONS of tests (not even lying 10 mins solving them!).

You don't need to log out before using the vpn though. You can log in with your ip first, connect your steam if you haven't already then activate VPN, add the game to cart, then go check out and that's it.

Yeah, but that way you're letting them know plain crystal clear you're using vpn; login in with your real IP then while in there switching to another part of the world? XD
I probably messed up my wording, sorry, I didn't mean log out but log in. But you can't add to the cart not even see the game with your real IP cause Fanatical is blocking your region, that's why the other user posting a screenshot of the search keyword "chenso" shows other games not chenso club, cause it's restricted so you cant even see it if not in vpn.
I know what you mean and I appreciate your attention, just dont think it's the best approach as they easily flag you, if they don't ban your account in this one it might be the next.
They can keep their games I guess, shame some have it easy while others have to jump some hoops.. or it's just me, I'm half paranoid half dumb.
