Do you use Epic games?

If so what games do you/have you played?

I only have free games on their site - which of course is a lot (but not all I didn't collect them all)

I have been using it since most of my games on Steam won't work very well for me on my current machine

I have been playing a lot of Animation Throw-down ( I love animation like Family guy and Bob's Burgers) and just started Vampire Survivor - I like it a lot

Any recommendations as well

Do you play Epic games- games

View Results
Yes - free only
Yes - i even bought some
NO - Never not even free

I think I have most of the free ones. A lot of them look really good. There are a few I plan to play but have not gotten around to it.
When I want some mindless fun where I'm not trying to progress towards any real goals... I play Fall Guys. Sometimes I race to win, Sometimes to just goof around. :)

I always get the free games and the ones from Amazon Prime Gaming. Right now I'm playing Hell Let Loose with some friends and I'll play Bus Simulator 21 soon.

Thanks to epic freebies i actually discovered games that I liked a lot there - Watch Dogs (still my fav game), Crashlands, Sherlock Holmes games, Alan Wake (recently finished Control too and now i'm moving with Quantum Break, i got rly invested in their "multiverse"), etc. I even bought a game there day 1 because my buddy insisted to play it - Satisfactory - and I had a lot of fun on it, 300h in and I haven't even played the 1.0 update.

And I also like Epic because they give away a lot of games that were previously featured in bundles and when they use games that were in a bundle that I didn't buy but I still wanted some games there, like the plague tale games or the ghostrunner series for example, I appreciated them for that, even though I would rather have those games on steam.

Now ofc, i'm a steam gamer at heart and I still like steam way more than epic or any other platform, but they got their perks too :)

I finished an entire 30+ hour playthrough of A Plague Tale: Innocence since it was offered as an Epic Games freebie.

I've put in 7+ hours of Kingdom Come: Deliverance on Epic Games to try out the game before ending up buying the Royal Edition on Steam.

And I've bought a few games on there, mostly Ubisoft associated ones. Not too sure how Steam mods/Steam Workshop plays with Epic Games but generally if a game can be comprehensively experienced without really needing or wanting mods, then I'll consider getting it on there. So stuff like Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Watch Dogs 2 - Season Pass, I've purchased on Epic.

I also bought Griftlands on Epic because Klei accounts have a feature where you can link Epic Games/Steam accounts and it will transfer over from Epic to Steam. So, bought Griftlands on Epic -> Log in to Klei Account -> Link Steam -> Game purchase on Epic now also registered on Steam.

Interesting, wonder how many other developers do the same thing.

Did not know that about Klei. Imagine more developers doing that. Would be huge, but highly unlikely to happen. They are passing up on many sales from Steam faithfuls.

Not sure if it's unique to Griftlands specifically, or if it applies to more of Klei-related games. But Griftlands, for sure.

I haven't even made an account there.
Actually, I have never even opened their site, now that I think about it.

Did they finally manage to figure out that Shopping Cart people were mocking them about? :D

Bought Alan Wake 2, the DLC for Control, Kingdom Hearts Games, Superliminal and some other random stuff. Still get most of my games for Steam, but not going to turn down a good deal, or good exclusive.

Because of their free games I've played some I never wood have otherwise. Played and ended up liking Death Stranding, even though it did not seem like a game for me. Also got Night in the Woods free which is a nice narrative game. Plus some others.

Currently when I want short gaming session I playing either Brotato and Hot Wheels Unleashed, which I bought the GOTY DLC for.

Yes. I have every game that was part of the free promos except Shenmue 3 due bug and I think I made a couple purchases on there a long time ago. I haven't played anything on there in a long time, but one of the games that I did play a lot was Dauntless. Dauntless had their own client then launched on to the EGS. I met some really cool people through that game. I haven't played it in such a long time, I heard it changed a lot and not in a good way and it's now on Steam.

A long time ago when I was a console gamer and then first started becoming a pc gamer I really didn't want to use Steam at all. I was actually heavily opposed to using Steam at first. If a game I was interested in on PC had it's own client I would get it on that. Eventually I started using Steam and more and more I would make Steam my primary client for PC. While I do get free game promotions on EGS, GOG, etc Steam is my main client. Even if I own a game on the EGS and don't on Steam I still want to get it on Steam.

Epic has provided everyone with an awesome free library of games. It's definitely nice to have this as backup if I were to not be able to access Steam or if something happened to Steam(lets hope that never happens).

Brotato was given away for free recently. You like Vampire Survivors, so you'll likely enjoy Brotato.

I've gotten most of the free ones, though it mostly just goes to the giant backlog pile with all my others games. I've played Toem, A Short Hike, Escape Academy, Escapists, GNOG, Minit, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, Moonlighter, Kingdom New Lands, Thimbleweed Park, a little of Sonic Mania before I remembered I suck at 2D Sonic, and a little of Celeste. Epic has helped Obliterate my wishlist. Hate their launcher because it's laggy af, but I'm not gonna not play games just because ~5 minutes of annoyance.

I have a pretty weak laptop I game on, and all those games worked fine for me, and were all pretty great. Except Moonlighter. That one was very laggy lol. Hard to recommend without knowing what games you like, but A Short Hike, Mini, Turnip Boy, and Toem were all really good. I wish they would make A Short Hike 2 :(

I've redeemed hundreds of free games on Epic, but I have yet to actually install and play a single one of them! I just have too many Steam games to play, and Epic feels like a fallback option for when I finish the backlog that I could literally never finish in a human lifetime.

I do have a few games I actually want to play on Epic that I don't own on Steam, so I might at some point install and play one. But even my "to play soon" list grows faster than I have time to play, so maybe not.

Only freebies I got there but I am not fundamentally opposed to buying a game there one day.
I just don't buy that many games outside of bundles (and not even a lot of that any more either)

I played most of them on GFN though because I didn't want to install yet another launcher and the games I wanted to play were available on GFN

I don't like how Epic does things regarding their platform. Still sad how user unfriendly it is compared to steam even after all this time.

still waiting to be able to see what games I own there via the website... outside of checking games pages 1 by 1.

so while I do claim all my freebies... I doubt I will ever install the launcher.

Ooh, I hate that you can't check games owned. So frustrating. I think they show in the receipts section.

Amusingly, I started playing more Epic games when I got my Steam Deck, as it made it easier to play them without ever looking at the Epic launcher. Yay, free!

Also making inroads on my GOG library, but not as well. Prefer GOG over Epic.

I've collected almost all freebies from them, I've played just a few of them: Ticket to Ride and Rebel Galaxy, until I've got them on Steam, and currently I have over 1k hours in Idle Champions, which I'm playing on Epic due to a huge initial freebies giveaway there, that can't be transferred to Steam. Also recently I'm no longer using their launcher, but the Heroic launcher (both on Windows and on Linux machine), which works pretty nice and allows automatically adding also GOG and Amazon games.

I'm not buying anything directly from them, but due to incredibly low price I do have Amazon Prime subscription, which most likely somewhat benefits Epic as well.

I play games on all kinds of platforms and storefronts, but I buy them on Steam almost exclusively (except for a few itch.io bundles). Steam is just too convenient and has the best sales and integration. I have played some of the games I got for free on several storefronts, including Epic. I play itch.io games often. I even bought (and played) the Mass Effect games on EA, but that was a long time ago. I haven't bought non Steam/itch games for years.

I've purchased quite a few games on Epic, often during their excellent sales.

Satisfactory - Probably have most playtime (about 300 hrs I think) in Satisfactory which was early access over there. Super cool game. It's at final release version and is on all platforms now.
Sable - I bought Sable over there and enjoyed. Cool art style and exploration focus.
The Last Campfire - cool puzzle / story / exploration type game.
Journey - I think I bought and played over there
Among Trees was one - sortof a crafter early access that never really got fully finished, but was still cool game to me.

Red Dead 2 is next on my "to play"list over there, although it requires the rockstar launcher too.

I've bought quite a few others on Epic, but like Steam, buy more than I play. Some I can't remember if I bought or were free, but I have alot of cool games over there for sure.

edit: I'd add that an unexpectedly fun free game I played was Alba - A Wildlife Adventure. Really enjoyed exploring the island. Of other free one's (just looking down the list quickly) I can recommend Hue, Stick it to the Man, Tacoma, Gone Home, AER, Stanley Parable, Talos Principle, Abzu, Qube 2, Inside, Limbo, Last Day of June, Rime, World of Goo, What REmains of Edith Finch, Brothers Tale of Two Sons, Lifeless Planet, The Fall, Juggler's Tale.

I've played a few of them. Subnautica was the most memorable of the lot. I had a good time with that one. I also played the amusing episodic game 3 out of 10, which was free there for a short time but not as part of the weekly giveaway. There's not too much else as most of the games they've given away that interest me the most are ones that I already had on Steam, and in general I do prefer Steam for installing and launching.
