I actually didn't see interesting deals this year or rather just for games/stuff that I either already own or don't need.
The only game I still have an eye on is Dragon Quest XI (40% discount for PS4, 30% discount PC) but its deal lasts a few more days and I still try to gather a bit more Steam wallet to pay less real money ;)

I bought a new cell phone and was tempted to get a PS4 too but I don't have the time to use it and I would rather use the money for something else. As for games I grabbed a couple of bundles here but I already own more than I can play so I think I won't be grabbing much else for some time. Lots of games in my wishlist are heavily discounted but I'll just play my backlog for now =)

Well, I finished Pokémon Let's Go Evee yesterday and preordered Smash Brothers Ultimate. (Both full price before sales) My Steam backlog is quite huge as well so I don't worry too much about missing a discount right now. I can still play backlog games until the discounts return.
I actually have the same issue with my PS 4 as well. I got to share the TV with my son and wife so I can't access it on a regular basis. In that case Steam is better due to transferred savegames (I can even play during my lunch break at work) and the Nintendo Switch's ability to be played on anywhere doesn't need any further explanation :D
