Ditto. I'm with you on this Nonos. Dev giveaways have this system anyways, and we don't need it :D

And what if the key is fake or already activated?

as an option for the gifter's end(not the only way so op'd still have the option of sending through chat and being personable) that'd be great since it prevents the possibility of not activating that key for those gifters who want to be sure (or don't like having to deal with others(i for one fear internet cooties...not really, but it sounds like something i might use because its easy and there are those who do the chat thing to confirm activation and his could streamline it for them, and obviously the option to not do this must be left intact for those who do the chat thing for human reasons))
how does the humble system work? is it available for anybody like steam connect? (the auto key thing was already set up for dev giveaways anyway so wouldn't be more work if they did)

Im not sure about the autmation stuff.. it would be convinient but unpersonal.. I like it at PB and GM, but it would not fit Steamgifts and destroy a bit of what makes this site so special.

It would be a nice option, probably better than email unless it will be the only option. Atleast if the winner will "reveal" the key then he can't mark as not received (but then again the key can be fake or used) or for example you're going somewhere and can pre-giveaway the key.

I am greatly in favour of this anti-suggestion for all the reasons you mentioned. Cheers, mon ami!

I know why this idea has been launched - gifting keys that come from (Humble) bundles. But what about people actually buying games on Steam to give away? You can't enter those keys here and thus you can't giveaway the game.
I will buy a couple of Steam games later on (within 3 months) to promote my 1st game that'll go on Greenlight. If SC really wants the keys to be inserted with the giveaway, it means I can't make the promotion the way I want to...

Hmm well it does have good and bad sides to it. It would make giving away bundle keys a lot easier but it would also remove a part of the social aspect from this site too.
I would not want to it to be completely automated since I've met some really awesome people through steamgifts and I enjoy meeting new people from all around the world. So maybe it should be optional just like people have suggested for lazy people :P

It can be an option for the giveaway maker maybe? Personally I don't have much interest in making friends through this site, I've given away several games and won a few, I don't stay in contact with any of them and I'm fine with it that way.

This thread is about a suggestion that has been made several times for "automate" the delivery process of the giveaways, i.e. you enter the key of the game when you create a giveaway.
I am totally against this idea! "Why?" will you ask me... Because... It would become so impersonal... I have met many people by gifting my games via the chat, and a few of them are now good friends, and some even more... :p
So, please, cg, never implement that! :p
What do you think about that, you, steamgifts user?
