Sorry to hear about your problem with the PC. You mentioned it was a completely pre-built PC? As frustrating it sounds, in my opinion the best choice would be to contact the store, explain the situation and ask for a replacement. Take more photos in case they ask for them. If a RAM stick was loose and the GPU not installed properly, who knows what else has gone wrong. There is a chance those parts may have been damaged during transit. You should probably not try to install it yourself or not even ask someone with more experience for help. If the store has a strict warranty policy, they might try to claim the warranty is void if someone has tried to re-install the components themselves.
The GPU is clearly not installed properly. It should be firmly inside the grey slot and the bright yellow ''tooth'' should be secured with a small sliding ''lock'' to confirm that the GPU has been properly mounted in the slot. I wonder how a pre-built PC have been shipped like that.. the components can't jump out from the slots themselves.

I got it via amazon, it seems it's from an independent PC store, so they built it there, but it's not like a ready-built HP from Best Buy or whatever. They had awesome reviews though, or at least one... I'll e-mail them about it, I guess the best solution would be if I had someone come look at it/fix it here and send them the bill (who knows, I might have already damaged the connector thing of the graphics card by connecting my monitor from the outside, since it's a bit crooked). I was just really hoping I could use it for work on Monday, my old PC can't deal with the videos I have to subtitle and it takes forever XD
Thanks for confirming that I wasn't seeing things :)

Yeah, the best for you is to e-mail them and wait for their response on how they will resolve your case. Was the seller fulfilled by Amazon? If yes, I've understood that in those cases you can contact Amazon directly on warranty issues. Hopefully it will be fixed soon!

Nelly, why don't you call somebody who has experience in building computers?
You could mess things up if you attempt to do the building yourself with no experience. (You also might have the experience, I have no idea, hehe)
For us to help better, either they should give you the complete steps to do stuff right, or we have to go to your house to see the problem (I don't think I have money for the tickets, xD)
Hope my suggestion helps you! :)

So I was thinking about getting a game or two in the current Humble sale to give away here. To help me decide between some candidates, I consulted the community wishlist. Turns out all 3 of them were on about the same number of wishlists, and they've all been given away exactly 15 times so far! If you're level 3+, help me change that 15 into a 16 here* :D (you may have to write out the code in reverse order, and the "A" should be lower case ;) )
* turns out it already changed with the creation of the GAs, so I don't actually need your help anymore ... but I guess you can still enter, successful giveaways are always better than 0 entry ones ^^
Oh, and I'm getting a new PC soon, so this will be my celebration thread for that as well, I guess. Wooo! :D
EDIT: The new PC is here! But it's not working :(
I'm pretty sure the graphics card isn't connected to the mainboard, and one of the USB 3.0 ports seems busted (I don't have anything to test it with and probably won't use it (have some more in the back), but that's not gonna be a 5-star review ...)
Any tipps on how to get the graphics card out and connect it properly? I watched some tutorials because I was planning to build my own PC (first time), but I'm not sure if I can do it backwards ... I got this PC because it had most of the parts I was going to use anyways, and it was cheaper. It was also supposed to come ready to use out of the box, but I already had to (re-)connect one of the RAM thingies, it was just tumbling around in the case, no idea if it survived the trip here :(
(there's also a bunch of unconnected cables, at least one of them looks like it should be connected though :/ )
