Hm, did you play the game right after release or after they have worked over it already? Also, are you familiar with the ruleset of The Black Eye pen&paper version?
I actually thought it is a good adaption, true to the original ruleset. And it is also a good game. Although it can be quite difficult and complex to people not familiar with the mechanics working in the background.

Combat and gameplay may come from the ruleset which let's you fail a lot in the early levels. First fights are basically a miss fest. Even more if you have no idea on what to pay attention. Those parts will be the same in the original game. Ui and map were okay for me but if you say you felt different after playing for some hours it's okay. Voice acting: Yea, I read the english one is awful. Only used the german one which seems to be better.
Still think, there are many games which are better contenders for "worst" but it's subjective anyway.
