Buying a collection in Steam that you already own parts of

Hello, I would appreciate if someone could help and answer a question I have.
I have a game already that I purchased through Steam and a few DLC for it. If I buy the collection that includes the game and all DLC, much more than I have, how does Steam treat this? Will it just overwrite the things I have and add the things I don't (like I don't get a new copy of the game) or is there a way I can get a giftable copy of the duplicate items?

it will "overwrite them" you don´t get giftable copies, there are only some few valve-packages (found in the steam FAQ) that give you addionatl copies.
