How about you change the rules to be only people who NEVER comment and have entered a minimum of 10,000 giveaways.\
BTW WTF is a 'spam comment' on SG? LOOOOOL.
'TY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' x19012903902193?
Just so you can stalk all the people that entered your giveaway, and you are upset only 10% of them 'bothered' to comment for you to do so??? :P
I am member of some VERY nice groups, I am happy :)
I'd rather for myself, and for people on my giveaways, to thank me if they win the item! It's far worse to get no reply or steam friend add after that, than a few hundred 'TY thanks tanks thank you etc etc etc'. Whenever I win an item I try to thank the gifter as profusely as I can as well as normally updating them at some point, either through added steam friendship or group message about how much I am enjoying the game, or discuss it with them etc.
Worst thing about commenting is the time spent.. I mean, how long do most of us spend on this site already ?!???! We need to at least get up and get some air/sun/rain/starlight/SOMETHING at some point and get off the screen haha. If I commented on every giveaway I entered, I'd probably still be typing for the next week catching up. I like to ramble too as you can see so it doesn't help. I'd rather post a single long post than a hundred 'TANKS FOR THE ADDITIONAL FIRE SUPPORT INCOMING!!! LAY DOWN SUPPRESSIVE FIRE AND MOVE UP IN TWOS'. I spend WAY too much time on the computer so I try to not comment too much so I don't stay even longer, neglecting food, toilet trips, life in general, chores, priorities.. I am already addicted enough as it is since first BBS/web 1994-1995, I have to force myself to try to get off as much as possible and not commenting on EVERY SINGLE giveaway I enter is a part of that for me!

I think giveaways are nice when they include privacy for the entrants.. I mean we really don't need to do a big list of all our steam community links there for the bot/dodgy people to try and add us.. I get so many weird random steam adds.

This reminds me of the Simpsons episode with Sonic Youth at Homerpalooza.
Teenage/young adult Smashing Pumpkins grunge fan turns to likewise and says "wow, this is cool"
"dude are you being sarcastic?"
"I don't even know anymore..."

Argh, too late I've kind of done it a bunch at first when I thought it was like a rule or something, and you'd get people re-rolling you for not spamming them as much as they'd like :)
But yeah why not! xD I'd be posting long rambles and then a spate of nothingness quite often, just like my Facebook groups :) I remember when I was addicted to post counts on forums, in the early 00s. After you 'win' some forums and get no 1 poster, then the forum is taken down, it kind of loses its lustre :P
I will leave steamgifts for a while to get off my plump behind (as an addict talking I mean like, to go to the toilet and play some games and do other computer things LOL). Just like all those facebook notifications of replies to my replies on posts.. I will probably never come back to this thread now :) I can't keep up with facebook either anymore since all the notifications.. it sucks me in, keeps me coming for more.. in ways it was good I was banned early on from the America's Army forum due to my bitching and ranting about lack of updates and laughing at the quality of product after being the most expensive game ever made (and released for free etc) haha. The less time you spend 'pwning' games or the internet or other things like that.. the more you are likely to be pro/pwning at 'life' and other things unrelated to technology :) steamgifts commenting would rEALLy make a dent in my already very tiny social life / motivation levels xD :) .. I do not need MORE reasons to stay on the computer longer than I already do.. I mean, I'm even addicted to trying to get my Steam rating up to as many hours as physically possible in a fortnight, by leaving a game running 24/7 for 2 weeks on my computer (all different titles, changing every few hours or when wake up etc to play something for real). Likewise, was addicted to getting a huge 'longest time spent on server' on my America's Army battletracker. With the power of some yummy mushrooms one day I vegged out for 9 hours and 3 minutes on a single server, camping the left stairs for either assault or defense, with my m82 (this was back in the 2.x days). Was real fun to sit there for 9 hours, running to the toilet to make sure not idle disconnect.. JUST so that my battletracker said something big on a number feature.
We are funny creatures. MY COMMENT COUNT IS BIGGER THAN YOUR COMMENT COUNT! MY CONTRIBUTOR VALUE FEELS SMALLER THAN EVERYONE ELSE'S :( :( lol :)
All this, like our Steam achievements, are pointless apart from alleged 'bragging' rights about how sub-human we are, never seeing the sunlight :)
Because in the end, we could at least be PLAYING the games we already have.. (I just tipped over 300 steam games eeek) rather than commenting on ones that we are prospecting!
