Cleveland Day 4
We went to Amish Country on Day 4! First up was Heini's Cheese Chalet. This place was amazing - we ended up skipping lunch because basically everything there had free samples. Rows and rows of cheese. We must have tried a good 50+ samples of various cheese. And in the other section of the store, there were sausages and chips and dips to try as well! There's an area where you can watch them make cheese. They weren't doing it the day we visited though :(
Next up was Hershberger Farm and Bakery. Zoom in on the roof! Why is there a goat on the roof!?. Ahhh!!! Such cute bunnies! I think we picked a really good time to visit. There were a ton of baby animals around - kids, ducklings, chicks, piglets, etc. There were even baby pigeons in a nest in the rafters.
We went around to quite a few other places as well, Guggisberg Cheese, Troyer's Country Market, Coblentz Chocolate Company, the Shearer Potato Chip Factory, etc. Not much in the way of interesting pictures. There was a very friendly cat at Yoder's Amish Home though.
We didn't take any pics of the Amish, or of the buggies and such. I guess I didn't want to make it seem like people who are just living their lives are just tourist attractions. Speaking of buggies, the roads around the area are pretty unique - a lot have specific lanes on the sides just for buggies to go on. And basically every 50 feet or so you see piles of horse poop.
