That's a bummer but at least they're letting you play offline and get used games. And PS Plus is way better than Gold on Xbox imo. They get all kinds of free games and discounts.

True in many ways, but in other ways it's not. My PC is crap for running newer games and I can't afford one that can. Plus there are exclusives that people are interested in. PC is so much better graphics-wise if you have a top notch computer and is a million times better for indie games and of course game price. So really, why not both?
