Just make sure you got enough watt from the psu and not let your pc get too hot, then you're fine.

As long as you keep the temperature of the graphics card reasonable, you will not hurt it by using it. It should work for at least 4 or 6 years if you game on it every day, maybe longer.

Edit: There is always a chance that it could fail from defective parts, but that is not a good reason to not use it. That is actually a good reason to use it a lot. If it is defective and is going to fail, it would better to use it and have it fail while it is still under warranty so you can get it replaced or fixed.

Also, even generic PSUs are usually fine with the GT 1030, since it has a really low consumption and isn't even plugged to the PSU, only to the motherboard.

Only use a 1030 if it's the DDR5 one.

My friend still has one. He uses it with an AMD A10 7870k, because he got a serious bottleneck when he paired the same cpu with his GTX 1050ti. Then he bought a proper intel core i5 to use his GTX 1050ti. If I remember correctly, his little brother still uses that pc with the GT 1030 to play Fortnite, GTA V, etc. They care about fps way more than graphics, so they just play on minimum and get a chunk of fps (like 120 in Fortnite at 766p, I'd say).

The problem with the 1030 is that for just a little more money you can actually buy a much more capable GPU, other than that, enjoy it and don't worry.

Paired one with a old Ivy Bridge i5 for budget gaming PC, adore it 30w passively cooled ♥ Plays GTA V and the fancy Skyrim, laughs at CS:GO. All I need, honestly not come across a game it can't handle when you turn enough down but am not much of one for £50 AAA games so ymmv.
