When I already have the game in my Steam library, I can't enter a giveaway (I don't need that reminder yet, I hope one day to have a vast library and need it).

Also, I can use the "hide" button for games I don't want to see their giveaways.

Wouldn't it help if the games we have given away were also automatically detected (like in the first case)? I mean, if I gave my copy away, I either already have it or don't want it, so I wouldn't enter a giveaway to win it anyway, right?

inb4, I'm not saying it's a huge burden to scroll past those games, it's just a suggestion.

Not by default. I have given away tons of unbundled games I hope to win back someday when I have more time / a better computer (and ideally after they have been bundled :D) and I know many other SteamGifters who give away games from their own wishlist.

You're a better person than I am, I would secure my own copy first. :-)

You're a better person than I am

That depends on the way you look at it. Imagine I have no time to play a particular game now (or my computer is not strong enough). So I give it away as early as possible while it still gives me 100% Real CV. Six month later the game becomes bundled and there are lots of GAs for it and I win it back while only "paying" bundled CV (15%).

I know it's a bit crazy and it hasn't happened with many games yet but Kathy Rain would be one of those cases.

I haven't thought about that, maybe I'm new. :-)

I like to keep my things tidy, if I own it and it's unused, it doesn't appeal to me so I give it away. Maybe I should take better care of my CV...

Your CV ratios are exemplary ;) What I just explained is just the sort of thing one might do if they spend too much time on this site :D It's like min-maxing in an RPG.

Well thanks. :-)

I've promised myself to give away a really nice game and not just bundled ones if and when I get a job again.

I'm not really an RPG person. Please don't kill me. :-P

No, really. Please don't kill me.

:D Don't worry. You're talking to somebody who has played neither Skyrim nor Witcher 3 yet ;)

That's not necessarily the case for everyone, i have given plenty of games myself straight from my wishlist.

Just because i give a game away does not mean i have no interest in it, but then again I'm not everyone and can understand that you might not want to see those games, you could always hide them with the eye so that you don't see them

I'd buy it for myself first and then gift it, not gonna lie.

I do hide them, I was thinking an option that the users could toggle on/off, but I see I'm the exception and most people wouldn't need it.

I don't think it should be hidden by default, if anything it should be a setting where you can choose if you want to see games you've given away or not in here: https://www.steamgifts.com/account/settings/giveaways

Simply, "Hide games I've given away" Yes or No,
No by default of course.

That's why I said "detected" and not "hidden". I was thinking an option, just like the "hide games I own".

Yeah, I'm with you, I didn't mean to poke at your question/suggestion, just added my thoughts :)

More options to the people, you can never go wrong with more options and customisation! :)

Good suggestion!

Nah, I didn't misunderstand or anything, the clarification was needed :-)

I don't want that feature unless it can be toggled on or off. I gave away multiple games I wanted, because I felt like giving it so someone instead of play it/my PC couldn't run it at the time.

Still, as always - I welcome any change that allows for more freedom in customizing your experience on SG, as long as each option can be toggled on or off by each individual users.

An option, of course, not by default.

You can hit the "eye crossed" button after you created your ga, It requires only 2 more clics to hide it.

That's what I do (unless I forget, which is not improbable...), I was just offering a suggestion. :-)

I agree that it could be nice to do it all at once, for example you're hiding all your ga since the beginning but after a while you change your mind, so you don't have to browse them one by one (especialy if you created hundreds ga)

Came to suggest this, at least I'm not the only one that immediately thought of that.

Maybe you can find someone of the guys who write scripts to implement this, wouldn't be hard work to do

I wouldn't know where to start, I'm just insomniac and had a late-night idea, tbh. :-)

If enough people think a toggle option for this could be useful, I hope someone can pick this up.

Right now you just have 27, so it's not much work to do it manually.
But, yeah, it might a cool setting thing to add.

Good idea, I'm sure the option would be useful to more than a few.
