Do you believe me?
Thank you for the chance! I wish you the best of luck on getting back that elusive level 7.

Lemme tell you a story, I've bought some good from someone before. As I couldn't hold that much shared them here - 'bout 4 at the count.
Long days passed - still had my Level 4 around - one day I woke up, looked around and suddenly saw Level 5s and 6s - 6.76 written beside me my Level 4 was gone, overnight.
Looks like the old wizzard I met thee suddenly proclaimed his goods were much valuable now, above 140$ he assured. Folk believed him for a while but of corse that how it is. Spells wear off after a while, not even did last a week his witchcraft.
Was it maybe just an illusion of mine in the end?

A similar thing happened to me in months past.
I was ridin' out of Town 5, havin' concluded my business there, and startin' on my way to Town 6. Rode all day long, until I finally arrived in 6. T'was late, so I stabled my horse and got a room for the night, pleased w'myself that I had made it to my destination at last. The next day I woke up, ready and refreshed, and guess what? I was back in Town 5. T'was as if I'd never left. Had to make that long, long ride all over again.
Something sinister's goin' on, I tell you!

I cleaned my newly acquired colt
While you likely meant the gun, I'm instead choosing to interpret it as you giving a lap pillow to a horse's head while cleaning out its ears.
I could have posted some cute horse images, but I decided on the following narrative sequence instead. You're.. welcome. >.>
(The review for the second attached image is reasonably entertaining, though.)

I see the local gossips already started spreadin' my story. It won't be long before it changes so much I won't be able to recognize it as my own ;P

I'm an honest and simple man. For the past couple o' years I've traveled far and wide gatherin' stories told by chatty countrymen and other rangers like me. One o' the stories I've heard multiple times from various strangers was tellin' of a phenomenon called "loosin' a level". I've always laughed whenever I heard it - it was like a fairytale to me. Even if there was some truth in it, I would have never expect to experience it myself. Oh, how foolish I had been...
I remember it like it was just yesterday... I was restin' in the middle o' a deserted prairie. I cleaned my newly acquired colt and then lay down enjoyin' the night sky which was atypically beautiful for this time o' the year. Before noddin' to sleep I noticed a fallin'
spacecatstar, which I thought to be good sign for the undertakin' I had planned for the next day...When I woke up at early dawn I immediately noticed that somethin' is off. I instinctively put my hand on a holster, but then quickly found out I was the only human being in the vicinity. I started lookin' through my equipment and discovered that one thing was missin'! My precious level 7 which I acquired just a few months earlier! I already managed to save some means towards upgradin' it (enough to purchase the upgrade some of the locals like to call level 7.10) and now it was all lost! I carefully scouted the surroundings o' my camp lookin' for some clues, hopin' to find some rational explanation for this affair, but everythin' was just like in those stories I didn't want to believe... This was the day I learned it was all true... The day I became a victim o' those elusive creatures known as filthy russian modifiers.
I had to act fast and changed my plans for the day. I saddled up my horse and headed for the Humble Joe's Store. I knew it won't be cheap to get the extra tools I needed, but that day nothin' could stop me from gettin' my revenge and reclaimin' that level 7, no matter the cost...
