I've played 1-3 and New Vegas, but I'm missing Fallout 4 and Fallout Tactics in my collection.
I'm not sure what to expect of 4 though. From what I heard it's not as good as the previous games, as far as "Fallout" goes.
But then again, I heard similar things about New Vegas and enjoyed it nonetheless :)

For some reason I was getting Where The Water Tastes Like Wine vibes while reading your story. :D

Thank you for a nice compliment! I didn't think about this game specifically, but it's exactly the mood I was going for :D

I believe you. I have a similar tale to tell.
For many moons I labored on the 5th plateau of enlightenment. Then I acceded to the 6th. I became vain with my heightened awareness that I fail to see the illusion that clouded my vision, and was brought back to the 5th plateau. I was more methodical in my second approach, but once more fell. The third and hopefully last time I gave up my ego and came back into the light of the 6th magnitude.
Looking back I now see my foolishness. I now see my stumbling block. Thrice have I been to the 6th. 6 then 6 then 6 again. 666 the number of the beast. He will try to bring you down. He will try to stop you from reaching nirvana, the 10th crest. Hold fast that you may ascend.

I'm an honest and simple man. For the past couple o' years I've traveled far and wide gatherin' stories told by chatty countrymen and other rangers like me. One o' the stories I've heard multiple times from various strangers was tellin' of a phenomenon called "loosin' a level". I've always laughed whenever I heard it - it was like a fairytale to me. Even if there was some truth in it, I would have never expect to experience it myself. Oh, how foolish I had been...
I remember it like it was just yesterday... I was restin' in the middle o' a deserted prairie. I cleaned my newly acquired colt and then lay down enjoyin' the night sky which was atypically beautiful for this time o' the year. Before noddin' to sleep I noticed a fallin'
spacecatstar, which I thought to be good sign for the undertakin' I had planned for the next day...When I woke up at early dawn I immediately noticed that somethin' is off. I instinctively put my hand on a holster, but then quickly found out I was the only human being in the vicinity. I started lookin' through my equipment and discovered that one thing was missin'! My precious level 7 which I acquired just a few months earlier! I already managed to save some means towards upgradin' it (enough to purchase the upgrade some of the locals like to call level 7.10) and now it was all lost! I carefully scouted the surroundings o' my camp lookin' for some clues, hopin' to find some rational explanation for this affair, but everythin' was just like in those stories I didn't want to believe... This was the day I learned it was all true... The day I became a victim o' those elusive creatures known as filthy russian modifiers.
I had to act fast and changed my plans for the day. I saddled up my horse and headed for the Humble Joe's Store. I knew it won't be cheap to get the extra tools I needed, but that day nothin' could stop me from gettin' my revenge and reclaimin' that level 7, no matter the cost...
