Anyone else scared off the blacklist thing?

When I was on zero blacklists I felt that way, at least a bit. Also, being new, I didn't wanna upset anyone.

But the truth of the matter is that everyone is going to end up on someone's blacklist, for whatever reason. Don't let that fear stop you form enjoying yourself or expressing an opinion :)

Nope, I say what I want. If someone blacklist me because of it, so be it. I don't counter blacklist or care if they enter my GA's after doing so, although it's a bit weird to enter giveaways of someone you don't like. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Don't worry about blacklists. All it means is someone doesn't want you to profit from their GAs.
They will still be able to read your posts and see yoshi :D

If I want to say something, I say it. Blacklist threat should just keep the conversation polite, not stop it completely. If someone wants to blacklist me for my opinions, well, I am sorry to hear that but I accept that. Personally, I have blacklisted a few guys, who were very rude, had terrible w/g (50/0) or are known not to activate the games they win.

I don't hold back because of BLs and was surprised about the -in my opinion- low number of BL I am on.
I do hold back on some topics, because I don't like to discuss them online in general.
I do hold back on other topics, because I think my knowledge is insufficient or only base on hearsay.

Blacklist the people that Blacklisted you and move on, they are not worth your time if they blacklist you over something stupid.

If people cant respect what you got to say and blacklist you for whatever reason, theyre not worth spending time with them and talking to them. Let someone else win their giveaways if you get blacklisted, like if there werent enough of these :P

Who cares about Blacklists? I really don't... Why? Because I think people doesn't deserve any blacklists at all. Even I could say that Blacklists should be unavailable or something.

What if you win a game? Does that make you a bad person if you "win too much"? No, it's just luck, destiny... Maybe that person will pay off the gifts by making giveaways, maybe he is not going to do it. I still don't owe anything to anyone, if the giveaway SPECIFICALLY tells me that I need to giveaway something in return for winning that certain game, I'll do it.

You know what? I told me this to myself, if I find those who have Blacklisted me, I'll Whitelist them instead... When they see a Whitelist giveaway of myself, and they find out they have me Blacklisted, they might think... "Hm? He has me whitelisted... but... why?"

Because you deserve to win my games, I do puzzles to make people work hard for the games, that's enough work for me to pat your back and tell you, "Congratulations, you deserve a chance to win some of my games, if you are lucky enough!".

Blacklist those who legitimately cheat, who are using multiple accounts, who are winning multiple games and don't sync account to gift away the same game, who are being toxic in the community (Not jokingly toxic, like Konrads, that guy is just a funny troll! :D), who are trying to harass others for game keys... Plain and simple, being evil. Don't blacklist those who are being nice to you and try to give you nice advice while trying to have fun with you, even though they have a poor ratio.

Leave them be, target the REAL problem here. :(

I was wondering if anyone else is having the same feelings about the blacklist thingie. Its not that I cant enter their giveaways, but more a thought of people disliking me.

Are you one of those people who either won't voice their opinion on subjects due to being afraid of people disliking them or will in some cases even say things you don't really mean if you think it'll make people like you? Honestly I hate that kind of people. Disgusting, pathetic little worms they are.

I'm not afraid to voice my opinions on things, because my opinions are great and I couldn't care less about people who will dislike me due to my views on whatever.

Don't try to be loved by everyone, because in the end that's not possible. Just be you and find like-minded people to surround yourself with and stop caring so much about people who dislike you for well being you. That's not just a suggestion for SG but for real life as well.

"Winning" side: it doesn't really affect your chances that much.

"People don't like me" side: lol, I don't give a shit about what people think irl, why should I care about these people who blacklisted me here ?

People use their blacklists quite freely and that it is ok in my opinion. Actually I could ask a question: does it matter if some random user blacklists you for some comment on forums? It only blocks you seeing his / her giveaways, not anyone else's nor does anyone see if you have been blocked by user IBLACKLISTEDYOUBECAUSEREASONSLOL :)

At the moment I'm blacklisted by 8 different users, I don't know why but I don't also care since it doesn't limit me much. Would be a different case if I logged one day and noticed that I have been permanently banned! Some people tend to blacklist people for various reasons, even silly ones. But it is ok since it is their own blacklist and they can do whatever they want with it :)

It's a good reminder you can't please everyone. If you see something like 30 blacklists at once, you probably goofed. But if it's just one every now and again, it's most likely a random user taking something a little too seriously. You can't do anything about it, you don't know who the person is, so you kinda just have to move on. I doubt that I've missed out on that many, if any, giveaways because of those who have blacklisted me. And even if I have, meh. That's their choice.

I am a leecher so I don't really care if I get blacklisted (right now I am in 2 blacklists), but yes I try to hold back on commenting, because people will see my profile (I gifted only 1 game and won 25) and probably will blacklist me.
Btw I have 70 on my blacklist, 1 for being rude, all others for gifting free games and all the swindlers selling a game that they bought for $1, for $20+ (you know, Dark Souls III bug).

I think most people that blacklist "random" users do that because they think the others are doing something "unfair". For example, some think that using "autojoin" ou similar apps is unfair. So if they think someone that entered their GAs is using it, they will blacklist the person. I believe that a couple of things make them suspect someone is using those apps, like commenting just "thank you" or a simple message like that with no variation on all the GAs they enter or not commenting an specific thing the creator asked in the GA's description. (I think that last one is a bit flawed, since many times people just wont read the description before they click "enter", even though they are not using any apps). Another possibility for "random" blacklists is when the creator thinks the user has a bad ratio of sent gifts / wins. e.g: if the user has won 100 games and only given away 20.

As for getting blacklisted just because someone doesn't like something you said... well, you can't please anyone, so you really shouldn't be worried about that.

I think the blacklist just makes me paranoid and anxious because it can go up and I will have no idea why. Was it my fault, did I do something wrong, what did I do wrong. Are they just doing it because maybe I have a lot of games already? Are they just being a jerk? Did they do it because they disagree with my thoughts about something? Why? Why is this happening?

It's more because I don't know the answer why i'm getting blacklisted that's making my brain constantly storm about it.

No way. I'm just going to be myself here and not allow something like a threat of blacklisting change that. Blacklisting is really not a big deal and besides you can't please everyone no matter how hard you tried.

Not really , whatever you do or say , you can't earn the love or "acceptance" of all people , some will agree with you others will not , C'est La Vie..

I understand you completely but do not pay attention to it, you're a good person and a good contributor and no one and no one really normal and important on this site will not put you on blacklist. Why would they do that? There is no reason, so relax and enjoy. Only jealous person can do that and they dont do anything for this site, their level is 0 or 1. It is my opinion

I can understand what you mean regarding the 'people disliking you' part.
Yes its silly, but as for someone that has social anxiety and such, I can't stand it when people don't seem to like me.
I think the best strategy to approach this stuff is to realize that some people won't like you for reasons outside of your control.
And that sometimes you can't really change it and its not always your fault.
We should spend less energy on people that don't like us and use that energy to develop friendships with those that do like us.
And mainly tell yourself - so what if this 1 person doesn't like me? it doesn't affect my life really.

long story short - people have less power over you than you're actually giving them.

I'd rather enter in some blacklists than not saying anything I want to say. I don' see the point.
It's like not doing private giveaways with requirements cause you will get into some blackliss too.

couldnt really care less if i get blacklisted, imo its a petty and cowardly way of excluding people from giveaways.

On the one hand, I am rather tempted to try and keep up my clean record of 0 blacklists (which as far as I've noticed was only briefly increased to 1 for reasons unknown, before going back to 0 again a few days later).

On the other hand it isn't like I'm entering many giveaways anyway. All I lose is a few specific corners of this site to post cynical comments, which while upsetting, is not particularly consequential.
