Do you use Wine?
There was a time I bought games to play either on my friends machine or using Wine.
So I have many windows-only games that I have to play on Wine.
Is you ask me if I like it, I don't like Wine. Not at all!
(for keyboard and mouse games, it's ok, but I could NEVER make my controllers work with it. the button mapping is ALWAYS wrong!!)
Now I only buy Linux games so I do not have to worry. I have a lot of native games.
NO TUX NO BUX!!!
Edit: Thansk for the giveaways!
I already own Knights of Pen and Paper. It's a great native Linux game! = )

I understand what you mean. Before I started visiting the site I had about 50 games. Then I found bundles and it became scary - I now have too many games. But that's another topic.:)
Regarding the controller, some time after talking about it with you - I bought some cheap nameless one and now i am using AntiMicro for mapping and it is ok.
To be honest - I like Wine - because it gives me freedom. I know that it requires effort and are likely not possible to run a game. But Let's be honest - it's making the impossible possible.:)
Have to try Knights of Pen and Paper soon:)

Great to read that.
I can talk to you later about this controller and how you managed to map = )
It could help me a lot.
Yeah, it's nice to run games that will not likely receive a port, in examle Warcraft 3 and Age of Empires 2 HD.

Yes, there was a promotion and was 5 euros, so I decided to modernize. :)
After downloading the program, you'll see how easy is working with her - I do not believe you will have any problems. However, if there is anything, just write.
That's what I mean - the freedom to choose. This is the reason to choose and switch to Linux so many years ago.

A big no, only if there's no other alternative and i can't reboot to Win* (saying this in general, not just for games).

I do not have these games, so I can not say about them. But I played Game of Thrones, and I think it using this particular engine.
But unfortunately we can not expect to play any game without problem.Nothing in this world is perfect.:)
What do you mean by Steam content depots?

OK, thanks for the clarification, and I'm sorry that I did not understand the first time. I do things with PlayOnLinux, It gives me the ability to create virtual drives with which to experiment with different games and settings. I think it's very convenient.:)

I prefer my wine in Zinfandel form thank you very much.

I do not use Wine. The only Windows game I have purchased in the last ~10 years was on a Windows 10 preview VM.
For those who "only buy linux games" check this out - http://steamcommunity.com/groups/OnlyBuyLinuxGames/discussions/0/458605613406211866/

Thank you for the link, I will look.
When buy a game from Steam, I am buying only those who have Linux support. But the reality is that last year I bought only 2 games for myself from there. The prices just kills me there. So I basically buy bundles- two, maximum three a month - for some game for me and for others to do giveaways. I hope you understand what I mean:)

Yes, just for the price of one steam game - about $ 3 -4 - I can get something for me and at the same time, to make a few more people happy too ( I hope at least, I'm not sure that each and every game is good).
Perhaps because of this I think a little differently about this topic. :)

sadly i'm using windows as my primary os with ubuntu running through virtualbox. there are a lot of things linux does better, but the things that would suffer from running windows in a virtual machine hosted on linux are a bigger deal for me than the other way around, and choosing an os at boot makes switching too difficult.

No. I was using Ubuntu and they started to push some kind of ugly GUI of their own and I switched back to Windows. The switch in the first place was caused by me trying to install Ubuntu on a separate partition but accidentally formatting the drive :-P So I thought, might as well go with it.

Thank you, did not expect the reply.. :) Very true, it's a cliché, but it is a live long learning curve.. We are only family-sized winery, so mostly local use. Our speciality is that we produce over 30 wine warieties. But my personal favourite ATM is Cabernet blanc.. Unique style of white wine from Cabernet grapes. If you are really interested you can check http://www.valihrach.cz but it is sadly not in English.. :/

Sorry if I surprised you, but I have relatives in Melnik dealing with wine and often tell me things from the kitchen, or in this case from the winery.:) So I know how difficult it is, even if it sounds like a cliche is true.
Perhaps you've know about Shiroka Melnishka?
I will browse the site using google translator, thank you for the link.
I wish you luck with the business is not the easiest one too :)

I guess, that world really is small.. :) In Our country there is also a wine regin with only slightly different name (Mělník). Thank you very much for the link.. I love that I still find new things.. It is sometimes hard, but hey.. If the final product makes someone happy and relaxed, I am happy too.. :) Thank you for kind wishes and all the bests to you as well. Happy gaming.. :)

Thanks to technology - world really quite shrink.
I'm not surprised we have many common roots.:) If you're interested you can read about the city here here's a short video..
Most importantly to have satisfaction from what you do , hence the difficulty can be overcome, or at least the greater part of them.
Thank you and happy gaming to you too.:)

Depends. For games with high load of graphics I don't really use wine. Too many glitches and so on. For games with normal-low graphics it works flawlessly.
But anyway, I already have Witcher 2 and Insurgency native on linux, so what else? Enough :_)
Thx

I use strictly linux for my main workstation, but also have a laptop with windows 8. So I play the games with linux support on the desktop and the windows-only games on the laptop. Prior to owning this laptop, I used wine (playonlinux) to run Steam and some Windows games like FIFA :)

So, my question to you is: Do you use Wine?
