On the off chance that this isn't a troll post, which I really do feel like it is, I must ask, is your email password the same as your Steam password? If they WERE in theory capable of nabbing your Steam password, it wouldn't be able to do them any good without being able to log into your email for the verification code. Assuming that your passwords were the same, and the person has already logged in, stolen your inventory items and changed the password, you'll want to check and make sure that your email password hasn't been changed as well.

Now, as for what you can do about getting your account back, your left with only one option: Wait for Steam Support to contact you with instructions on what they'll need you to do, and be ready to give any and all information that they require. Please note, however, that they should never ask for your password, and if you have to verify the account, make sure you have some sort of information you could use as proof on hand. Gift codes from redeemed games, a verification email or some other sort of verification that only you would have towards your account.

Aside from what's posted above, not much else I can tell you.

However, to return to a previous thought, how is it that he was able to access your email and find the verification code? If you used the same password across both sites, I would recommend you use this as an example of why you should always use unique passwords for all accounts that matter.

Best of luck.

+1

I can understand 1 VAC ban; but 2? Surely GabeN's 1st one was enough?

Didn't even know you can get 2 VAC bans.

I am just surprised that after the member stated that they were here as a member against the rules, that the support to help is still viable within the community. That makes little sense to me. But whatever.

By the time Support gets around to banning him for not being 13, he will be at least 13. lol

As long as the report is submitted prior to that date of actually becoming of age to actually use the site, it will be considered retroactive. It has to be, as given the time it does take to answer support tickets. If not, then why even bother answering the many in que.

I was about to use SG when my account was hijacked as well.
If you are logged in, you stay logged in.

Once you've logged in to SG, it stores that fact in a cookie on your computer. As long as you don't delete that and it doesn't expire, it's not going to confirm your login with Steam again -- Steam only sends it the confirmation that you're logged in when you click through the OK on Steam's site, otherwise SG can't (and doesn't) check.

Just contact support and wait. Provide any proof of ownership you can provide, including any CD keys and proving that you have access to the original email address used to sign up on steam. I posted a lot of proof, and my account was unlocked and returned to me in just 7 days. If you don't give them enough proof, it might take longer.

And regardless of what else you don't do, make sure your email password is unique and extra long and secure. Email accounts and bank accounts are some of the most important logins that you want to keep safe.

Also, try not to spam the forums. All you can do is wait, so no point getting impatient.

This guy is 12??? When I was 8, I can even code in C! Or maybe because I'm asian.. XD

That really isn't relevant.

Which one is irrelevant? My whole post or the part being asian?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The fact that an "Asian" that brags about his intelligence cannot even speak the international language (AKA. English) fluently... Yet he speaks about coding in C at the age of 8.

If you were actually THAT intelligent, you wouldn't make grammatical mistakes of that degree...

P.S. The whole "Born as intelligent because he is Asian" thing is referring to Koreans, Chinese and Japanese people. You are not from those countries.

The whole post was off topic really. Plus, being Asian doesn't male them smarter. It's simply the culture stresses skills in math more than many others.

There are lot's of off-topic comments here actually. I was just shocked that at his age, he's like acting like a retarded person. And the asian thing is meant as joke btw..
