First off, I do not have the time to get drawn into a lengthy debate, especially with everything that's on my plate right now, so don't expect me to participate much in a discussion, but by all means do so amongst yourselves and feel free to express your opinion and point of view.

That said, I do not understand why certain folks on here are so hung up on the concept of ratios and blacklisting others for this reason and no other (we are not talking about breaking rules mind you). I mean why do you think people were attracted here in the first place? "Oh cool, a site where you can go and have a chance to win free games? Sign me up!" Right? Is that not the general thinking of the masses upon discovering it? Why did they flock here in the first place if not to win games? So why should they be hastily begrudged for that?? Look, I get it. Nobody likes a total leecher that never (or almost never) gives back. But also consider this: That people give back when they can and what they can within their means, and not how or when you may think they should as if you somehow knew the details of their life and could fairly judge them.

Listen, I'm not trying to tell anyone what they can or can't do with their own blacklist. I believe that they have the right to do with it as they please. But I also believe in someone's right to be of the opinion that the sort of rationale presented here is both petty and short-sighted and that there are some people on here that are ridiculously self-righteous, full of themselves as if their shit smells like roses and doesn't stink., and need to hop off their high freaking horse and pull that stick out from their all-too-tight anal sphincter that is clearly bothering them.

So that's it in a nutshell. Agree or disagree, it's entirely up to you. All that I ask is that if you are someone who blacklists others based on what to me seems like this draconian concept of ratios, that you kindly do not enter any giveaways that I may post and treat them with the same kind of respect that you no doubt would want and expect for your own and your wishes for them.

I'm quite new and I don't think I care about ratio in most cases. But there are some people with 3 yrs + membership and have won $400+ and gave 0 or maybe $2ish. I don't think I like that.

Well said. I agree with your sentiments. I can understand the other side, though.

When I was in third grade, there was a girl who carried two lists in her pocket. One was of people who she liked, and the other of people she didn't like. When you did something she liked, she would show you that you were on the Liked List. And if you did something that she didn't like, she would show you that your name had been moved to the Not Liked List. That is what blacklisting reminds me of—as a gut response—particularly when I see someone take the time to actually point out to another user that they have been blacklisted.

That said, my most recent GA was won by a user who, during one year of membership, has won 41 games and given away only 1, which had a RCV of $3. And even though the 41 had a cumulative RCV of only $60, my reaction was still, "I really don't want to be giving away games to someone with this kind of ratio. I mean, I've been a member for less than half that time, during which I have had zero income, and I've managed to giveaway several games. Why can't they do it?" That was the first time I've had that kind of reaction on SG. I haven't blacklisted the user. I can't divine their situation or motives. I don't want to, yet I do want to. But he/she hasn't responded in 3 days since winning the GA, and I'm hoping that it lasts 7 days so another winner can be chosen. And I don't think I'll be doing any more GA's that don't require at least Level 2 to enter.

My ratio's a bit under 2:1 at the moment (though it's better on sgtools as I tend to only give away unbundled stuff). I don't generally make controversial comments, but I'm steadily picking up blacklistings. I can only assume it's ratio freaks.

Well if they think it makes a difference, good for them. It really doesn't.

To all those people who go through blacklist threads looking for more to add, feel free. o7

Any reason for BlackList is a valid reason, whether you like it or not. Because in the end it's Contributor's own money he paid for GA with and he has every rigt to decide the way he want to distribute his own money - does he want to make puzzle? group only? high level? exclude certain people for whatever reason? It's his right, his money. Who are you to force him to distribute his money in the qay he doesn't want? Why should your opinion on the matter, opinion of the person who pays with imaginary points and few seconds of time, be more important than opinion of a person who is paying with his own hard earned cash?

Also even with horrible ratios people can still use the site. There are hundreds of people who don't BL for ration or don't BL at all. So noone is "hastily begrudged" (well almost noone, there will always be people like konrad, but that's a rare extremum), no matter if I BL you or not. No matter if `100 other people do the same. You can still freely use community, enter thousands of GAs that are still available to you, and we can still give our GAs freely to people we feel like. Simple as that.

And another thing is that I met maybe 2-3 people on SG who realy were not able to give back. Because they lived in a country that due to economic war was restricted from any means of online purchasing. Beside that - anyone can give back. If someone does not it's not that he cannot, but that he choses not to. Nowadays there are rtens of ways to get games for virtually nothing - you have sites like tremor with their coins or GMG with their credit, or many others (I know that in my country there are at least 2 similar local systems), you get your steam trading cards tou can sell for Steam wallet, you have various other GA sites that unlike SG allow rtegifting of won games. Not to mention that veeeery often these people with horrible ratios who cry how they are poor and canot afford to give anything away have trading threads with tens-hundreds of games in them, have tens-hundreds of trade feedback. They are capable of giving back to community. but they choose to get things for themselves instead, and it's fine, it's their choice (same as it's anyone's choice to BL them for doing so), but pulling out "I'm poor, I cannot afford giving back" argument later on is a serious exaggeration.

I have created a topic yesterday where I mourn about the loss of my cat. I was blacklisted three times in response. Weird but I don't really care.
