i've bought it over a year, was censored, contacted steam support to delete the game to make space for an uncut gifttrade, saw it free yesterday, activated it through the american store page, now playing it with lot's of gore and splatter like a zombie game should be.

i'm happy now.

NO.

don't link hacks, which messing with the memory, without warning about the risks. i like my VAC status in good condition, thanks.
legal or not, it uses methods, which VAC is able to detect as cheat or hack.

some "patches" even infringes copyright laws.

Not true. I used it.

some have luck, some don't. VAC isn't the most reliable anti-cheat system.
even if you don't get a VAC ban, it's still not allowed to modify the game's memory. well, not on secured servers. it should be fine with "-insecure", unless a said patch is adding modified textures, without permission.

left4uncut and left4gore are using hack-methods, to manipulate the memory to load the uncut files, which are downloaded&installed, even if you own the censored version.

Do you even know what VAC stands for? Valve anti cheat. This isn't a cheat, in fact this is completely legit. Read.

that link doesn't say anything about memory-hacks being legit.
i also never said anything about making a game uncut being against the law. (i'm from germany and owning and using an uncensored or indexed game is legal)

even tho, those uncut patches doesn't seem give you an advantage, it may be detected by VAC through the methods they use.
technically, it's a hack.

i haven't yet read a post or official statement, that explicity allows using it.

Stop being fucking paranoid. It just tweaks the info to restore the gore. It doesn't give you any advantage. It's like the people who use aesthetic mods in games like Resident Evil 6.

yeah...just tweaks the info.
no.

it hooks between the game and the memory, loading the uncut files.
stop posting, if you don't know what you're talking about.
and don't even compare this to mods...

i will and cannot stop people from using uncut patches, i just want to warn about the risks, that do exist.

You're really ignorant, aren't you? This is a mod and it's completely legal. I linked you to the article to prove it was legal, but no, you're still arguing. Also, your statement by saying "some have luck" is really dumb when used on a program that makes the same process over and over again.

they sure did. but refunds? you trippin'?

i also told them, i want to remove them, cuz' it was cut and that they should add an age verification system and that i'm aware about the "no refunds" policity.

used the mail-template, found in the "for uncut" group on steam.

for the price of your soul, tho. O.O
(sorry, couldn't resist, i'm hating on EA since the CEO's started to do cocaine. i mean what else could be the reason, that a reliable publisher with a fairly good reputation sank that deep into the dephts of eternal greedyness)

I went to install it but didn't at the time because it slowed internet down too much. After the deal had ended, I looked at the page and it said you had to install it. Was panicking because I only installed a part of it. Thankfully I still have it and could finish installing it. Truthfully, the only Valve game I wasn't really interested in playing (as well as the first Left 4 Dead) but meh, it's nice to have.

You shouldn't be so paranoid...I registered my Steam account just to get free Portal, didn't install it right away and still had it when I took Steam game playing a lot more seriously!

So I played Campaign with other people for about 45 minutes or so and to tell the truth it was no where near as fun as I expected, very repetitive game IMO. Maybe I should give it more time to have a full opinion about it. I don't want to sound like a fanboy or anything but Zombie mode in CoD is way more fun.

Got two of them (for my primary and secondary steam accounts - very convenient if you have two computers and sometimes invite friends for LAN party) Few of my friends got it too, so I guess that it's zombie killing time!
