Edit:

Giveaway Ended, Thanks everyone for the comments, hope i can get back to gaming and enjoying it soon ^-^

Hello...
So basically my steam stats says it all, i have played only 2.9 hours past 2 weeks..... :(
I don't know exactly what the fuck happened but for the past 1.5 years I haven't been playing video games as much as I used to, It's part due to the fact that I have to study and work at the same time now and I don't have as much free time but It's not the main reason, I have the time to play video games but it just feels like there is no interesting game out there, I still follow the gaming "world" :| though. news, trailers, youtubers, etc. but when it comes to playing games myself nothing seems interesting, and that's the weird part because there are definitely games i want to try, when i see videos of some games I'm like "shit that game looks fire I have to try it" but then when I get close to trying the game... Its like games have become fun to watch but not fun to play, and I hate

And I really really miss gaming, I found some of the best friends I've had in my life when playing video games, some of the best and most memorable moments I've had in my life were because of video games.
I've been studying more, working and going out more (and according to people "doing actual things" more) but let me tell you, it's hasn't been fun :D There are definitely other things I enjoy but non of them compare to my "gaming days" :| , I think It's because i basically grew up with video games, the group of friends i had were all into video games and that's what ours lives revolved around, gaming...

But then I got to try the Nintendo Switch a few weeks ago, and I'm really really excited about it!
when Nintendo Switch was first announced my reaction was "meh...". I can say I'm pretty familiar with nintendos IPs and consoles but the wii u was a failure and i had a 3DS but it became boring to me after a few months, even after switches full presentation last month i was still negative about the whole thing but after trying it, it just feels great in hand, and the new Zelda game is just sooooooo enjoyable to play, I played it for just around 30 minutes and i legit didn't want to stop playing, i was so sad when they said my times up :( I didn't pre order it but im completely sold on the Switch and specially Zelda, It's the first time I'm excited about a game in the last 1.5-2 years and it just feels great!

And now about why i decided to write all these here, SteamGifts was one of the last communities i joined and got attached to it, it was mostly because of trading but the community itself was great, so many friendly users and so fucking many hilarious discussions!
i don't know how it is now because almost all my closer friends i know from steamgifts/trades have stopped trading, i just wanted to write all these and kinda thank the community. Here's a random giveaway(requires lvl2), one of those games that i really really want to play but i couldn't get myself to actually play it :/

Thanks for reading...

One way I've managed to fight that lack of gaming time is to play on the easiest difficulty setting. For me, it's fun with no frustration. Some people would laugh and tell me to "git gud" but as a working person, married and father of two, I have enough hard things to deal with IRL.

same stuff here.... now i work full time and even if i have still time to play games (no gf and i go to the gym in my lunch break), i usually end up watching twitch instead of actually playing games.
I also don't understand why I keep buying games, being aware that most likely i'll never ever play them.

getting old, i guess

Good to hear you got excited about gaming again. Maybe you just have to find the game that will attract you for a longer time and then you will get excited again about other games? Anyway, I hope you will find something that you will enjoy in your free time, it does not have to be a game ;-)

Thanks for GA!

Maybe you just didn't find Your game. Try to play different types of games, that you didn't try to play earlier.

I had the same thing with movies. The more you have in your to-watch list, the less inclined you will be start watching. Then they become "just movies". I hate this. Maybe this happened to your gaming life.

You're showing signs of addiction to non-gaming! It's a serious issue a lot of us are facing especially as we go into the adult years. If you don't watch out, you'd forget to game for an entire week! D: I suggest going on life-detox where you game for 8 hours a day everyday for 3 weeks, it'll be hard at first, but it will help you recover your glory game days soon, and just remember, you're not alone!

I totally feel you. I really lack of time to play most of the games I buy myself since I got my son.
I actually often find myself starting games when I finally got time and playing a different one the next time without ever finishing the one before.
I really enjoyed playing games and still do so I switched to playing games during my lunch breaks but anyone who ever played RPGs know that 30 minutes often aren't even sufficient for a single quest depending on the game.

"I have the time to play video games but it just feels like there is no interesting game out there"

Same. I have lots of games to play, and I actually have time to play them, but it doesn't feel the same... For me everything changed when I enterded in university. But now I'm living new experiences and enjoying my spare time doing different stuff. I miss playing video games too although I don't enjoy them THAT much.

I don't know, I think I'm not going to go back to that gaming times (at least until I finished studying), but I'll never leave the gaming community entirely.

I played and completed very few games during the last 4 years. I think I'm just losing my passion for video games. Sometimes I dive back in, but it doesn't last long.
