16gb is really pushing it nowadays honestly. Windows keeps eating more and more ram each year that passes, AAA games are getting worse with optimisation meaning more ram eating (and bad memory leaks akin to Deathloop). If you're wanting to stream as well, you're gonna really benefit from 32gb.
The GPU also isn't the best with cost effectiveness. A 3050 isn't the best GPU honestly, it'll get outdated pretty fast (like, if you're wanting to focus on AAA games, it'll likely start to struggle within the next couple years).
Of course, as it's a PC, you could always just upgrade components as you go. A 3050 might do for now, and then get a 3080/40xx or something later on when they drop in price a little. Just make sure your power supply can take a better GPU.

i just finished days gone, but i'm with rtx 3070TI and played on High texture quality.. with 3050 its going to be best with Medium for high fps, but i'm not sure.. all depends on you.. seems like you really want a gaming pc, but this is not the best and like i said after a year or two you need to upgrade for sure. :)

Why 3050 over the 2060?
2060 also has dlss and from what I know in the past the x060 from a previous generation are better than the x050 of the next generation, I remember in some cases even the x060 from 2 generations ago being better than the x050. And from a quick google the 2060 seems to also be better than the 3050.

Why not at least RTX 3060?!
I own a 3070Ti 8GB VRAM, and I'd like to have more VRAM (I also play at 1080p, 144Hz)

I think you should go AMD if you want more performance for your dollar.

What about buying separate components and building your new PC yourself? This way you don't have to depend on exact configurations they offer, it might turn out to be cheaper, and you'll get an exciting Lego for grown-ups as a bonus :) Don't be afraid, the whole process is actually pretty simple.

My standard logic is that if even someone as clumsy as myself was able to do it successfully, then pretty much everyone can :) But I absolutely agree that there's no need to force yourself if you are not comfortable with the idea.

More ram and better GPU.
16gb is good enough for gaming, especially with a GPU with decent ram but for streaming you would want more.
CPU a 7700k or 8700k is more common, you can get a very bigger one but mind you they also use a lot more electricity, if those bills are high in your country, you have to watch out. Those CPU i mentioned are still the best for gaming combined with low electricity.
Basically a repeat of what the rest already said, you can cut a dime on cheaper things, but these pickings are indeed not future proof.

I think it looks fine for 1080p gaming if your target is 60 fps with full or medium detail. As others have said, the 3050 isn't ideal in terms of price/performance but if that's the only real option you have right now and you can't wait, it should get the job done.

Congrats!
I was finally able to change my laptop for a proper gaming laptop last year since my Alienware decided to brick right in the middle of the pandemic when GPUs price was your soul basically. It feels really good being able to play all the cool games and I hope you make it happen for yourself.

As a first PC its perfect.
I would not recommend you spend a lot of money until you get more comfortable gaming on PC. There are too many poorly educated PC users buying stuff they don't need. There will always be something better in 6 months. Future-proof is quickly becoming a thing of the past for Desktop gaming. Only thing I would recommend is at least a 3070 if you can.
As stated above your rig is great for 1080p gaming on medium / high settings. Keep vsync on or set your cap to 90 FPS. You rarely need more than that unless you game professionally.
Also 16GB is fine for any game you will play. I only upgraded to 32GB this year to keep up with my ever-growing google browser tabs. (over 100 usually)

Can't speak to your local market but generally speaking the rx6600 tends to be about the same price as the 3050 and is so, so much better.

I wouldn't call a pc with a 3050 a "gaming pc" because that card is gonna struggle with newer games unless you're playing at lower resolution and settings. A quick search says a 3050 is about the same as a 1660 super which is almost 4 years old.
The i3-12100F is the better budget cpu. It is newer, cheaper, and faster than the 10400F in every benchmark. https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-compare/intel-core-i5-10400f-vs-intel-core-i3-12100f
https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-10400F-vs-Intel-Core-i3-12100F/4079vs4125
But the i-5 12400F costs only a little more than 10400F but can have 30- 50% better performance https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-compare/intel-core-i5-12400f-vs-intel-core-i5-10400f
https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-12400F-vs-Intel-Core-i5-10400/4121vs4073
I would not bother buying the 3050 or the 10400F unless you got them for extremely cheap.

Hi, if you are not in a hurry, you can wait a little longer as i5-13400/F will release in January and according to reports, it would be up to 30% faster than 12400. I guess they may increasse the price a bit over last generation, but that should not be too much, I hope.

There are many video benchmarks with similar systems on Youtube.

got robbed.
Oh, man, that sucks... Can we at least hope that you were not hurt in the process?

sucks to hear you got robbed, maybe later you can start looking for a better deal.
that was better than mine and i still play 1080p no problem
i don't know what it costs you, but generally if you were aiming at 1080p, my opinion is that you probably could have found a better deal with a more current amd cpu and something like a rx6600 or XT or some variation of that.
Sadly, nvidia doesnt have a good low to mid range gpu. But it all depends what you paid for it,

Hello sg! Good News! i will buy my first gaming pc ever! i have already choose a pc with good hardware(i guess) but im not too sure about the gpu :(
here are the specs:
"i"5-10400f
16gb ddr4 ram
rt"x" 3050 "8"gb
at first i thought its a very good pc considering its price, but i like to research a lot before doing something, so after a lot of searching i found out its not that good(?) some say its not "futureproof", some say its the perfect gpu for 1080p gaming for AAA games...
so i thoug"H"t it would be best to ask here :D what do "U" think about this pc? should i buy it? is it also good for streaming-gaming?
Edit: well hello again sg, sorry for not being online. bad news... got robbed.
