A good monthly (yearly) deal?
I bought every single monthly from the beginning. My last (annual) subscription ran out a month ago. I am not a subcriber right now. I really don't get why they think it is a good idea not to offer me the same discount as completely new subscribers. The situation is not that different. Just like the potential new subscriber, I am not subscribed right now. The only difference is that I have been loyal in the past. That I have been one of the best customers they had. if they want to bait me into subbing again, they should offer me the same discount. That would make sense from a business standpoint, wouldn't it? I think it actually happens. I think I will really skip the first monthly in my life. I would have gone for another annual sub for 99$. I am really not in the mood to pay full price while others get a 33$ discount. No thanks. If they think I will come back anyway for full price, they are wrong. From now one the only chance of me subscribing again is with a substantial discount. I could do it with a second account, and maybe I'll do that at some point in the future. But I am really not in the mood of giving them money right now.
Really disappointed, and I also just told them that in a support ticket. Not that I actually believe this will change anything...

With enough support and enough people leaving and hurting their profit and wallet, things may change but if they can get enough new subscribers to cover the people leaving they wont. Its a numbers game really.

Their marketing department must be on drugs or something.
Everything they do looks so... random and unprofessional
Even if for... some reasons, this deal makes sense, why do they push these offers under our faces in the newsletter ?
"Look a this great deal !!!! too bad it's not for you lol"
I mean... really ?

+1 Been around not quite as long, but almost. (did pause a few here and there too)
I cancelled last month and also told them it was pretty shitty. At least we know there are two of us.
Best I'd do henceforth is a single month when it's something I REALLY want. Guess that's the way they want it.

It just so happens that my subscription to (yearly plan) humble monthly ended this month.
To be 100% honest I decided to get passively charged again for another yearly plan, as I'm fully satisfied with their service.
Except that I just saw the 99$ black friday plan, and it appears that I'm not eligible for it.
The only option for me is then to open another account, which I just did.
I contacted them too to explain how stupid the situation is.

Been a month to month subscriber until now.
I thought fuck it Humble. Cancelled my plan. Okay, well still no 99$ dollar offer. (no new sub).
Thought about a new account (okay,DRM free and trove on another account - a bit shitty).
But what totally works:
Creating new account, gifting from new account => old account via same paypal.
Well, screw you humble :>

You can try on Steam trades to get some nice games out of doing so if you don't find anyone else: https://www.steamtrades.com/trades/search?have=referral

There was a restaurant near me that began doing similar crazy stuff as HB, trying to get as many people in as possible over several months (half a year, I think) -- ridiculous deals, etc. -- and then the owner sold the restaurant. New restaurant was expensive as heck and food quality was way cheaper than before. I like to think the old owner was able to inflate the selling price by showing that the restaurant had an insane amount of customers and traffic (zero mention of the crazy deals, of course). Could be IGN is trying to do the same thing, where they try to get as big of a 'unique customer' base as possible (including duplicate accounts that get created for taking advantage of all their new-customer deals), then sell HB for a ton of money since it would look like HB has an insane number of unique customers. Just some random thoughts as to the possible reasons why HB is being bad to its most loyal customers! I might be wrong of course, in fact I hope I'm wrong. :)

I got this answer to my complaint:
Thank you for reaching out! I apologize for any frustration we might have caused by not including you in our most recent subscriber promotion(s). We are always trying out new ways to grow and expand our subscriber base, and unfortunately we cannot offer all of our promotions to each of our customers. This is in no way a reflection of our appreciation of your support! I will definitely pass your feedback along to the appropriate team members, so that we can take it into consideration when making future developments.
Didn't I see this exact answer already?

Don't see anyone putting up any mention of this here so might as well. It doesn't affect me as I'm not a new subscriber but it would be great to those that haven't subscribed before I guess.
P.S. Discount coupon shows up at checkout if you are eligible. It will show $132 until then. Also it works with gifting the yearly if you just want to get the promo but don't want the current month games.
