What if the number of entries for a particular giveaway is made restricted? Would it make the participation more fun?

Of course it won't be same for every game. Say, for multiple games together entries are restricted as to first 1000, or it might be based on point basis. 10 point games can hold at max hold 250 entries.

What would be the outcome if this is implemented?

Some giveaway has awful ratio, 1 to 4000K+. This is madness. If the entries are limited, then people might have been more careful about their point and how they are distributing them.

I think it would increase the sanity.

EDIT : Maybe not for all giveaways, for those where user creating the giveaway wants to add it. He puts a number of entries allows otherwise, it will remain unlimited by default.

That's exactly my point. Everyone who is participating would have a better chance to win.

It wont be just some random point and click anymore.

the person who wins out of 4000 entries is probably much more happy than if he/she had won out of 250. but i think it would be nice to have giveaway restrictions for some, though certainly not all

Yes, it might be left out for the person who is crating it. If he chose he can introduce limit the number of entries.

Another thing is, I was thinking about the 3999 unhappy person, who may have really wanted the game, and that giveaway was just another annoyance in their daily life.

This would be make users much more organized and people would pay attention to what they are doing. Doesn't that appeal to everyone?

eh... I was thinking more of a restriction for the user (like the user can only enter 10 giveaways) or something like that. I wouldn't think it like making a max restriction for a giveaway though...

This is another way. But, it wont stop the flood. I was looking for something that would raise the satisfaction level.

A certain more exclusive giveaway site does exactly that.

I would say no... Or at least that the person who makes the gift puts the amount of entries allowed... (with a minimum of course :D, like 500 as minimum allowed)

No, cause not everyone can access steam-gifts 24/7. People would go crazy and be on all day and always try to get into every giveaway under the limit.

Also, looky look someone who wants to try and win a game and yet has never given away a game. Why is this not a surprising trend?

Thanks for your feedback.

You can't judge someone from one week.

I wouldn't want this because I would feel like i need to spend all my time being the first one to enter so I don't miss out. I don't want this to turn into a competition or race to see who has the most free time to enter a giveaway and refresh the page most.
