I will decide after the beta.
Pre-ordered and waiting for it.
F*ck Ubisoft.
Looks nice but it will be like Watch Dogs.
Hyped.

Your poll is missing the "meh, game looks boring and repetitive as fuck" option.

In my opinion, it won't be boring and there will be a lot of ways to have fun. But yeah it can be repetitive, we will see.

Exactly. I hate repetitive games, but a lot of people seem to like them. o.O

I'm %90 sure you will need to be online to play it, also there will be NPC's as enemy in the game.

so sad that so many of you ignore the actual quality of the game and decide purely on the fact which publisher releases it.

we do? Far Cry 3 is considered a really good game. FC4 is more of the same, but still pretty good. they surprised us with Far Cry Blood Dragon. a really fun spin-off in 80s style with Mark Hamill. everybody thought this was just an aprils fool joke. but they really did it. and it's a good game. Ubisoft did several smaller (indie-like) titles like Child of Light or Grow Home, which are far from their typical AAA formula, and people like them a lot. They also did stuff like Might & Magic X, a really nice old-school RPG. it reminded me a lot of the old Might & Magic titles (3-5). doesn't get much more old-school than that. they recently released Rainbow Six Siege, which by many is considered a fantastic multiplayer FPS. Ubisoft fucked up a lot. but they also did some really amazing stuff. and i think it's not really fair to hate every Ubisoft game not matter what (like so many on the internet do, unfortunately). :)

Yeah, their games are good. I wanted to mean other things (Server problems, downgrading, bugs). Rainbow Six Siege had lots of server&disconnect problems before the update. At least they fixed it. On the other hand, playing Grow Home and R6: Siege currently, they are so good.

I think there's a lot of displaced annoyance related to Uplay. If they got rid of that, I'm sure the vast majority of complaints about the company would disappear. Like you've said, if you just look at the library of titles, they're one of the best.

so true. i didn't have any problems with UPlay in years. but i can understand if people have problems and are pissed.

i wonder though, how many people on the internet just repeat "Uplay sucks" for years without even having used it recently. ^^

They are criticizing common practices or just comparing the state of past releases
Siege did had some nasty netcode issues, that might have been resolved at this point
Far Cry 3 is a repetitive game, either you enjoy it or not, theres no denying theres a lack of diversity when it comes to side missions
Its also not the first time, there a Graphics Downgrade

that would be valid criticism. but that's not really the impression i got on the internet. most people just say they hate Ubisoft ("Ubishit") and everything they do. ^^

my biggest disappointment is bullet sponge enemies/AIs thing. that will be boring and annoying to shoot 2 mags or more to kill one guy. after the beta I will decide if it's worth it

Yeah, many reddit users are complaining about that but some of them are defending because they say it's RPG.

First time it was announced, it looked really good. But newest footages shows a lot of things that seem innapropirate for competetive gameplay.

People are complaining that the AI looks dumb and it seems more like an RPG than a tactical shooter (which isn't what they expected). To me it doesn't look very interesting, and I'm sceptical after the few recent AC games and Watch Dogs :/

It just baffles me that they went with a realistic looking setting and bullet spongy enemies. For me that kills all immersion. It might work in something like Destiny and Firefall but it's not what I was expecting here.

Between the visual downgrade and the weird out-of-place game mechanics, I've lost pretty much all excitement for this title.

Why, isn't a open world survival and shooter/rpg game would be better with multiplayer?

Not all of them. I guess when I think about it, I should have seen it coming. But these days I don't really play multiplayer games that much anymore.

IMO the story will make it or break it for this game. I bought it and i'm waiting for it, if its not good enough in the BETA i can always refund it, Games can't be judged only by the publisher's past releases ( The game would be awesome considering Ubisoft history ).

My initial impressions were good, but now that I see all the Ubisoft hate I'm not so sure.

Seriously though, everybody keeps saying it's repetitive and downgrading... I really don't know what they are talking about, but if they downgrade something so it runs better then wouldn't that be better than releasing something that runs crappy? Either way you are going to have people complaining... And what game out there isn't repetitive? Most are, Far Cry 3? sure, Fallout 4? sure but the majority of people will still enjoy them. They can't please everyone, I think that's a given. I guess all the games released could use some sort of improvement. Dying light was pretty repetitive and the story sucked, but I still really enjoyed it.

I guess I am kind of biased though because I have never really had a problem with Ubisoft, but half the people that complain about them probably haven't either... just jumping on the Ubisoft hate train.

absolutely true. one example: Shadow of Morder was a repetitive open-world game, just like those Ubisoft games - and everybody loved it. would have been a different story, if it was published by Ubisoft, i'm sure.

For those who are on the fence or unsure about the Division, I recommend to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpPLATt94n0 - basically AngryJoe goes through and actually does some gameplay and he's right there with a Developer asking him questions as they play together. The game looks pretty cool.

Joe gave two concerns he had with the game:

  • the game reminds him of Destiny
  • the tactics used to encounter the enemy factions seemed a bit repetitive, however Joe only played three of the enemy factions in the game and there are more enemy factions that just the three types he encountered and the Developer assured him that once you go through the game and encounter all the different factions, that the tactics would be varied and fun.

So take all that for what you will.

As far as my thoughts: If the reviews hold up and I can pick this game up for $30-$40, I will most likely buy it because the story seems really strong and that's what I would play the game for anyways :)
