A Visual Novel needs to contain nudity for you?

The only visual + novel with nudity that gets my stamp of approval is Game of Thrones. Of the limited VN exposure I have, the nudity is cheesy and poorly done anyways, pandering to a low element.

Both. Depends on the devs. If they feel it needs nudity then it's fine. If they think it doesn't then it's fine too. Cartoon-ish nudity doesn't turn me on either way so it's just for nice art anyway.

I believe nudity is something writters use to cover some of the plots holes(I don't really know if this is the right term, correct me please).

Well...Unless the nudity IS the actual content, which gives them much more freedom and non-sense.

Either way nudity is something that I rather stay away, or avoid as much as possible.

No it doesn't, but I don't buy VNs on Steam(at least atm) because they usually get censored...

If the game creators put nudity or sex scenes in the game then yes I do mind if people fucking censor it!!

I just want to see everything there is to see in the game, be it nudity, gore, or hate speech. If the game was designed to be this way then I'll play it this way, I don't get offended easily so I don't want anything censored(as that is a crime against the artist/creator artistic view).

This is just like the medieval ages where artists would be socially crucified(or even literally crucified) just because their work offends a bunch of special snowflakes.

TL:DR Idgaf if a game has nudity or not, but fuck censorship of any way, shape or form!! Artistic freedom is a beautiful thing!

Like 99 % of the visual novels that contain nudity or some ecchi or sexual innuendos on Steam are Very positive or really aceppted by the community so it seems like if you wanna have an affordable franchise you need at least some of dat ;D .

Would you honestly play Fate/Stay Night only for those scenes? Hyperdimension Neptunia is also a RPG with a Visual Novel basis that works very well. Steins;Gate is also spectacular, solid VN with no adult content. Etc. Although, if you're playing a romance Visual Novel, it may be nice to have those scenes, but not in a sexualized way, but in a way to see the affection of the characters for each other, almost symbolic, like showing their relationship.

This thread caught my attention cos I <3 VNs so much :3 I don't mind if there are boobies but being a straight female, I'd rather be playing as a female character and if romancing is an option then I'd prefer to do so with guy characters xD and I don't exactly find male private parts attractive haha! However, I do appreciate tops off in special images and stuff :P Overall though I'd rather have a VN with a great storyline than all the romance and nudity stuff.

As for censored versions, regardless of whether I want to see the content or not, I want the full version of the game, feel like I might be missing out on something if it's a censored version.

It really depends. Most VN lately go down that route , but i dont really care if it has or doesnt have it in it ... as long as its good.

But all an all , an VN can have nudity and be great , but that doesnt mean its necessary to do so .

Depends, nudity wrecks some, improves others, and does fuck all for most of them.

For me, I don't really care, though if you are going to introduce a censor on nudity and/or sexual content, at least give a way for those who want the uncensored version to verify their age and view it uncensored! May times I watch a show or play a VN where I see alot of censorship, and I find it far less appealing than I do the actual inappropriate content. it breaks immersion, and in some cases, where they just remove scenes altogether, it completely ruins the story and makes you feel as if something extremely crucial happened and you missed it (tear out several pages in a book and try reading it, you'll understand pretty fast if you appreciate story at all).

I wouldn't refuse to play a VN that interests me just because it also has those scenes or anything, but generally they're pretty annoying, out of place, and/or unnecessary, which kind of brings down the story a bit. So I'd rather not have them, but if they're there, whatever.

Nudity in VNs is gravy, as long as I get the steak of a decent story I'm happy...

It's nice to see that the poll is so close with all the answers. Looks like we don't have a definitive answer. Some people really like the nudity, some don't, some don't matter.

No, it doesn't have to contain nudity. I won't mind seeing it, but I also don't think it's necessary.

I'm now playing Fate/Stay Night, the Realta Nua version, which had the H scenes get cut from the game. I saw a screenshot of one of the H scenes and I'm really glad they got cut from the RN version, they looked completely unnecessary and out of place.

I play VNs for the story, not to look at girls with large boobs.
