I had activated bioshock infinite(retail) on my account and finished it a while ago. I wanted to play again but I realized it is not on my library anymore even it is downloaded on my computer. When I click to the .exe file at steamapps folder it directs me to the game's community page. The game can be seen on my recently played games but the achievement section is not visible there. And in the licenses+subscriptions section, there is a steam-complimentary entry which I think is the reason of this problem because I didn't download anything related to steam at that date.(don't know if it is about beta though since I participate in beta). Also when I try to reactivate my key, it says duplicate key as expected and when I click "retrieve account" button, I get an e-mail about it. So, in a way it says the key is active on my account. I don't know what's the problem. I have asked it to steam support too but couldn't get a response for days. Have anyone encountered a problem like this before?

How/where did you get the key?

This. Seems like a chargeback situation.

Exactly what I'm thinking, especially now I know OP bought codes from a trader.

sounds like either a stolen credit card somewhere in the chain of trading(not necessarily your trader maybe) or charge back trade scam(then it'd be him probably)
edit- saw new posts. yeah its that this guy you got it from sounds

If you bought the key from a shady site, it may be that it was bought originally with an stolen creditcard or something similar. It gives steam a reason to delete it from your account
This is just a possibility though

I think only the Steam Support can help you with this problem.

It's still attached to your account and probably got revoked by request, if it was a key.

But does not get notified by Steam, or does it just disappear?

Yep totally agree.

Wait, I thought valve can only remove games bought directly from steam, not ones activated with keys.

Nope, some retail sellers can contact them and ask them to deactivate a key if they have proof of something like a chargeback, or if they can prove a stolen CC/DC was used to purchase the key.

Nope. I had a serial key for Dead Island revoked because the ballbag I traded with was bunked up in the honeymoon suite at Châteaux du Chargeback (or possibly Keygen Kastle)...

The guy that traded with the OP also sold Bioshock Infinite to someone else that has an identical issue. They too have BI in their recently played list yet it is missing from their library.

Said trader is also not registered on SteamTrades, and I can't find him on other sites. This is clearly a chargeback scheme.

It could happen sometimes when getting a new game. I once bought Bioshock 2 and didn't see it in my library for 2 days, then it just suddenly appeared in my library.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am not a scammer and have refunded all the users who have been affected by this issue. I would also like to say that I did not use any sort of fraud to acquire these keys and that I am still looking into the issue myself to see what happened.

Thats good of you, wonder what the cause was though...where did you buy or get the keys? Maybe it was a bad source?

Look I am not here to argue I am simply here to clear everything up and state that I am a legitimate trader and do not scam or use any fraudulent methods when dealing with others.

Great timing for a suspend I guess :) Now that it's over, I can explain the situation. Before this topic I had already talked to the seller and he told me if steam support doesn't solve it, he can give me a refund. And while waiting for a response from them, I opened this topic to see if anyone encountered a problem like this before. My only intention to open this topic was to learn if it is a steam client error or a key problem. Not to put the seller under suspicion. But before I can say anything, I got suspended and things got out of my control :) After I realized that it's about the keys, I talked to him and he immediately gave me refund as promised. You thought it's a charge back situation but if you would look at his profile before blaming him, you would see his own game got deleted too. Maybe it's an unlucky situation but I think I was lucky to make this trade with an honest person like Jake. It could go much worse than this.

Anyway,I tried to explain it as best as I can. I hope all of you see this before the topic gets lost in the deep of the forum :)

It it really isn't the seller, maybe it's the shop/place he bought it from?
