Here we go, I'll start.

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010) - This movie is a joke. At first it's interesting, then it's boring and then it's just funny/pathetic. And they put it in a "horror" genre. Words are not sufficient. Nosferatu is turning in his grave. 3/10

Come and See (1985)

Soviet anti-war drama film. This was a hard watch, but that's exactly what I was looking for after a month of Godzilla. Incredibly powerful, but very emotionally draining. Here's a short description from wikipedia, because I can't summarize it any better. The film's plot focuses on the Nazi German occupation of Belarus, and the events as witnessed by a young Belarusian partisan teenager named Flyora, whoโ€”against his mother's wishesโ€”joins the Belarusian resistance movement, and thereafter depicts the Nazi atrocities and human suffering inflicted upon the Eastern European villages' populace. The film mixes hyper-realism with an underlying surrealism, and philosophical existentialism with poetical, psychological, political and apocalyptic themes. It's an absolute masterpiece, one of the greatest war movies ever made. What am I saying? It's one of the greatest movies ever made. Period.

The Hands of Orlac/Orlacs Hรคnde (1924)

Austrian silent horror science fiction film. Definitely a masterpiece of german-language expressionism. A celebrated concert pianist loses his hands in a crash. In the hospital the doctor transplants the hands of the recently executed murderer Vasseur. When Orlac learns of that he becomes obsessed by the horror. And then there happen more murders happen and Vasseur's fingerprints are found. Orlac doesn't believe he killed anyone but maybe the violent tendencies of the murderer were transplanted onto him together with the hands. It's a fantastic story, after almost 100 years maybe not something as unfamiliar as back then, but still chilling, suspenseful and very entertaining. I've been meaning to watch this one for a long time. With this one, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920), The Man Who Laughs (1928), The Thief of Bagdad (1940) and Different from the Others (1919) (these are all his movies that I watched, and they're all masterpieces), I can only say that Conrad Veidt was an absolutely incredible actor. A shame that he died at the age of 50 in 1943 and is not very well known these days because of that. He could've made a lot more fantastic movies. If he's unfamiliar to you, I suggest you watch the movies I mentioned.

Agreed. He is one of my very favorite actors - am especially fond of The Man Who Laughs, but those are all masterpieces as you say. The Spy in Black, a WW1 thriller, is also very good if you haven't yet seen it.

Casino Jack and the United States of Money - fascinating doc that explores/explains how the US government got so badly broken and who broke it.
The Phantom Carriage (1921) Victor Sjรถstrรถm's disturbing yet beautiful meditation on death and poverty. I put it off for some time because it really is difficult to watch.

Wild Zero (1999)

Japanese scifi-comedy zombie-horror rock'n'roll film. The japanese rockabilly scene is fascinating. And this might just be THE movie about it. Lots of loud cars and bikes, lots of pomade in the hair, lots of leather, lots of rock'n'roll, but everything's japanese. Seriously, if you never knew about that culture, check this movie out. It's just incredibly fun! So crazy, so over the top, but so entertaining. This movie is simply awesome! If you come across this one, definitely watch it.

Funfact for anyone else reading this, as you have probably seen it while watching the movie: It's set in 2021! The story begins on January 17, 2021, so less than 3 weeks ago.

Adventureland (2009)

American comedy-drama film. It's surprisingly good for what it is. But sadly it seems to have not been promoted a lot at release, so it's not as well known as it should be. Good cast, entertaining story, all around well worth your time.

The Dig (2021)

British drama film. This is truly a gem. I didn't expect it to be this good! It could've easily been boring, but what might've been a dry archaeology film developed into a gripping character drama. With archaeology! This was the first movie I watched that came out this year and I'm happy I did. And here's (part of) a review from imdb user robertasmith who was able to express in words how I feel about the movie better than I ever could.

"So rare to watch a wonderfully gentle but poignant film. It tugs at the emotions as it tells a largely true. Some liberties are taken with the truth but largely accurate. The real story of Peggy Piggott is fascinating and worth a film in itself. However the real stars of the story are Edith Pretty and Basil Brown portrayed brilliantly by Mulligan and Fiennes. One small criticism is that Carey Mulligan is too young for the part but she carries it off superbly and the performance by Ralph Fiennes is one of the best I have seen in a long time. The whole cast is superb and the backdrop of imminent war is ever present throughout the film."

So yeah, definitely recommended!

Michael Clayton (2007)

American legal thriller film. Not as good as I expected from such a strong cast and interesting story. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for the movie but I didn't really enjoy it. I don't mind slow movies like this one usually, but somehow I still didn't like it very much.

Godzilla VS Hedorah 1971
I thought I saw all the Godzilla movies. I must have either missed this one or just blocked it out of my memory completely,.

It was bad. Even for MY standards. It's an environmentalists movie. There are so many things wrong with the movie. I won't go into them, though.

With the exception of Godzilla using his breath attack to fly like a jet engine. I do NOT remember him doing that in any other of his movies, thank GOD for that.

Still, not the worst movie I have ever seen. That still goes to the 2016 Ghostbusters.

It is a good movie. Shame it didn't do well in the box office cause it had the bad luck of going against Captain America: Civil War in the same month. Original screenplay, great casting and characters but alas

American comedy-drama film. I don't want to talk too much about it at this point, but it's absolutely one of the best movies of 2020! Great performances by everyone involved, such a fascinating story. Definitely recommended!
