Jurassic World
What a let down.
I like some of the ideas here, where at this point in time the place is run as if it was Disney World, it just didn't played out well.
Some excuses for the creation of a new dinosaur don't even make sense, you are telling me kids look at them as if they were elephants, and yet they are having a great time with hologram dinosaurs, fake archaeological sites and Jimmy fallon...Ok, sure thing movie
But its really not just that, characters are one dimensional, there are some terrible one liners, Weak CGI
Most importantly it doesn't feel like Jurassic Park, the monster in this movie itself is closer to a slasher movie villain.
Also i bought a bunch of 3D movies and this movie is starting to make me regret that decision

The over-the-top presentation of corporate priorities through the incessant need for new dinosaurs, new revenue, new corporate sponsorships, increased park attendance and revenue growth, lame presentations by celebrities like Jimmy Fallon, and attempting to turn the dinosaurs into another revenue source via potential use as weapons indicate a very real understanding of how corporate interests would run and regard such a park in 2015. As such it is a wonderful commentary on corporate culture in our present time.
I don't think it's Citizen Kane by any means but I think it's a lot more conscious of some of its flaws (even its one-dimensional characters, typical of the genre [and even of this particular film series]) than many people give it credit for, and embraces them rather than overlooks them.
I think it does quite a good job with reinvigorating a film series that is little more than a high-concept monster thriller, notwithstanding Ian Malcolm's (initial) presence in the series, telling Hammond, "your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should."
Since the first movie the series (and even the fact that Crichton wrote a second book about it) has been precisely what Jurassic World presents its park as: a means to generate revenue without having anything new to add to Crichton's original question of whether or not reanimating extinct life should be done. At least this last film is keenly aware of that and puts it out there. I like that.

Never read the books, that interesting information.
Like i said, the idea is fine, but such commentary is something sort of obvious to write on something like Jurassic Park
At points it contradicts itself, not that my example of the kids enjoying themselves with mundane tasks is proof that corporations have no idea what people actually want.
As for characters, idk...maybe it's because the original is definitely more action oriented which made me less focused on the characters, but every character here is like that one guy/girl, they are all very predictable, i find. From the get go, you can assume what kind of person Owen is and figure out what is love interest will be, the same thing goes for the kids and also their aunt.
you just know, the movie will hit those spots.

Been a while since I've seen Martyrs but that was a messed up movie lol. Still, good watch.

Maze Runner. Best movie of 2015 that I've never seen.

Really good movie from Mamoru Oshii, similar to his Ghost in the shell.
Then again, similar alot of movies that dealt with a virtual reality, that came out in the late late 90´s early 2000´s
Some ideas have been explored before but for the most part avalon its quite unique
A little less Cyberpunk than Ghost in the shell and a heavy dystopian look to it.
The movie centers on one woman who, like many other people spends its days playing a virtual reality game, no one seems to be sure how the game came to exist or what rewards will be given to them for completing it.
All they know is the world they leave in is gloomy and empty, and they would even sacrifice their own life, in hopes of finding something different

Hateful Eight. Was typical of Tarantino's style and if you enjoy his style it was really good.

The Front (1976) - Good classic comedy starring Woody Allen. 7/10
Lord Of The Flies (1990) - Very good thriller/drama/psychological movie about a group of kids who survived a plane crash and managed to reach an inhabited island. 8/10
A Serious Man (2009) - Good movie directed by Coen brothers. It's basically about life and its unexpected twists and turns. 7/10
Just Jim (2015) - Very good British movie about a regular teenager who meets his new neighbour and his life changes forever. It's a mixture of drama, thriller and a hint of comedy and it has amazing music and photographs. Recommended. 8/10
Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy (2004) - Pretty good comedy starring Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate. Was better than I had expected. 7/10
Kenau (2014) - Pretty good movie from Netherlands about a woman who was leading a revolt against Spain. 7/10

Noah- Awful movie that makes absolutely no sense, the only entertaining thing about it was me trying to figure out if its anti-catholic or not
Rewatched Animal house - which is a nice flick with some scenes that drag for way too long, on the other hand its one of those quotable movies
Rewatched True grit - one of my favorite westerns, i prefer the Coen's remake, mostly due to Hailee Steinfeld role as Mattie

Star Wars: The Force Awakens 6/10
The movie was over hyped and the story stole a lot of plot elements from A New Hope. But I still found it to be very entertaining.

I have a playlist of Seen Movies running on the television via MPC-HC.
Friday the 13th: VII was just on, but I wasn't really watching. Full Metal Jacket is on now. Not gonna watch after the plot is done with Ermey and D'Onofrio. Just skipped Kids because I'm not in the mood for Larry Clark's pseudo-teen erotica at the moment. I did watch The Campaign a couple hours ago, and I hadn't seen that movie but the one initial time three years ago or so. Had some laugh out loud moments. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed its crudeness and ridiculousness.
Next up in the list are The Interview, In Time, one of the Animatrix short films, Fruitvale Station, Hostel, and Bubble (2005).
Last movie seen for the first time? Ant-Man, I think. It was all right.

oh...same director as Caligula, really liked that movie but never bothered to look for his other work, i do enjoy the genre, i just dont search for people who make exploitation movies, because most of the time, they didn't do any thing special aside one particular movie

Black Sea (2014) - I have a soft spot for movies taking place in submarines. It's not as good as Das Boot obviously and it has some stupid elements in the plot but it's amazing nevertheless. Keeping one at the egde of one's seat all the time and the ending was great too. Plus Jude Law was really great in this one. Recommended. 9/10
Two Step (2014) - Very good drama/crime movie about a guy who gets tangled up in an ex-convict's business by accident. The movie is rather pessimistic and grim. Anyway, it's very good. 8/10
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004) - Very good cartoon, I think everyone knows it. 8/10
The Number 23 (2007) - Very good thriller starring Jim Carrey. 8/10
Boomerang (1992) - Romantic comedy starring Eddie Murphy. It was very good to be honest and funny too. 8/10
Not My Day (2014) - German comedy/crime movie which was amazing. It starts really slow but the last hour of the movie is just great and filled with craziness. Recommended. 9/10

It's a Wonderful Life (1946) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038650/
I watched it 'cause I've never seen it before and people call it classic...I hated it tho, the story is very predictable and the acting is like in the theater, not for a movie...I realize that for its time, the movie probably was really amazing but I barely made it to the end.

San Andreas (2015) - Definitively a must watch.
This is one of the best movie I watched since beginning for 2015. It is a non-stop-action from beginning to end.
By the way, the "survival" theme and the "believable" and "possible" history add much more value to the movie.

Here we go, I'll start.
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010) - This movie is a joke. At first it's interesting, then it's boring and then it's just funny/pathetic. And they put it in a "horror" genre. Words are not sufficient. Nosferatu is turning in his grave. 3/10
