Here we go, I'll start.

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010) - This movie is a joke. At first it's interesting, then it's boring and then it's just funny/pathetic. And they put it in a "horror" genre. Words are not sufficient. Nosferatu is turning in his grave. 3/10

For audiences that don't want to put any effort while watching a movie.
If the usual samurai movie is too hard to follow, if you prefer people fighting cgi monsters instead of practical effects, if you Want an asian movie but don't like to read subtitles, if you need keanu Reeves in a middle of an all asian cast.
Then this movie is for you. Glad i didn't watched this in the theater
With all honesty, its not even the worst chanbara or jidaigeki movie ive seen, decent enough to watch at home.
The ending is pretty weak though and you know, keanu fighting cgi only made it worse.

Keanu should direct more movies, i had a better time watching Man of Tai Chi, which came out the same year

Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009) - Weak movie. Not funny at all. Waste of time. 3/10

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (2015) - This one is a lot better than the first one. Still not a great movie obviously but there were some funny scenes and I enjoyed it in general. 6/10

The Town That Dreaded Sundown (2014) - Decent slasher flick, nothing too good but nothing too bad either. Acting was horrible, dialogues were terrible and editing was horrid but the movie in general wasn't bad for a slasher. 6/10

The Matrix (1999) - Yes, I watched it for the first time ever in 2016. It's an amazing movie, one of the best sf out there, no doubt. 10/10

The Matrix Reloaded (2003) - As good as the first one, worthy sequel. Amazing all around. 10/10

The Matrix Revolutions (2003) - Wasn't nearly as good as the first two but it's still a very good movie. Still, many questions are left unanswered and I didn't like some of the elements of the plot. 8/10

Beneath (2013) - Very good movie about a group of people trapped in a mine. It kept me on the edge of my seat almost all the time. It's definitely better than Descent and Sanctum. 8/10

Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb (1964) - A satire directed by Stanley Kubrick. It's good, has a lot of intelligent humor in it. 7/10

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) - Very overrated movie directed by Stanley Kubrick. Probably the most boring flick I've ever seen. Maybe it was impressive in the 60's but nowadays there's absolutely nothing gripping about this picture. It's predictable, every shot is extremely long and it's just so damn boring. Not a horrible movie but definitely not as good as people make it out to be. 4/10

A Clockwork Orange (1971) - Another Kubrick's movie. This one is great and has more content than you can intake at once. Very well thought and well directed movie. 9/10

The Shining (1980) - Yet another movie directed by Kubrick. This is definitely one of the best horror movies I've ever seen and Jack Nicholson was amazing in it. Also, cinematography was poetic. 10/10

Full Metal Jacket (1987) - Directed by Stanley Kubrick, it's an amazing movie about Marine Corps and war. Has some amazing and memorable scenes, great dialogues, very good acting and amazing cinematography plus awesome music. A must watch. 9/10

2001 was phenomenal when it came out, using effects and ideas that had never been done before. Remember, the movie predates computers by at least 5 years (Kenbak-1), and it's still a masterpiece of cinematography.

That being said, from a modern perspective, unless you really like watching visuals (and accompanying music), it's difficult to digest.

Most of the scenes could have been cut in half and maybe then the movie would be easier to approach. It was just too long and the content could have been presented in 40 minutes tops. Instead we got 2,5h of content which was very sluggish. I admit though that visuals were amazing. Music was okay but I'm not a fan of classical music and most of it was classical. I loved the music at the end though, in that room, very Silent Hill-esque.

That's generally a comment that can be made about most movies in the '50s and '60s. David Lean's masterpieces are great examples of movies that could easily be presented in a much shorter running time without losing any of the story. But, in those days, people actually cared about the visuals as well.

As I mentioned, it's about the visual extravaganza. (also, a lot of ideas that are now cliche or that we take for granted were pioneered there, but that's only important to a historian)

Well, to each their own i suppose. My wife enjoyed it and it was the second time my son watched it. He got to choose what we watched that night anyways and he chose that over Ant Man. It wasn't completely terrible, though it started off pretty bad. It was nice to hear some familiar voices that i had not heard in a while like Fran Drescher and that lady from Will and Grace.

King Kong Escapes.

It was quite the crazy film, giant apes and mecha apes made by a guy named Dr. Who and everyone is hamming it up, and I loved every second of it. Plus, got to see the origin of this guy, who I thought was the coolest thing ever when I was a kid.

Hyena (2014) - British crime movie. It was pretty decent but nothing really special. It had very good music but also horrible ending. 6/10

Hot Tub Time Machine (2010) - For the second time. Still as good as I remembered it. Funny and chill. 8/10

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015) - Worse than the first one but still a good, crazy comedy. Not for everyone though. 7/10

There Will Be Blood (2007) - Very good movie directed by Paul Thomas Anderson starring amazing Daniel Day-Lewis. It's long but didn't bore me even for one minute. 8/10

True Grit (2010) - Very good western directed by Coen brothers. Great dialogues, amazing language, good characters, fine gem all around. 8/10

Fargo (1996) - Crime movie directed by Coen brothers. Great cast, amazing atmosphere, very good dialogues, awesome cinematography and I just fucking love Steve Buscemi, he's probably the most underrated actor of all times. Great movie. 9/10

The Revenant (2015) - greatest and most beautiful movie I saw this year... it is gorgeous 9/10
Bridge of Spies (2015) - it feels like late 90s movie and like any other Spielberg movie to be fair, but still it's well written and made 8/10
Spectre (2015) - kinda alright ... 6/10
Blade Runner (1982) - classic 9/10
A Walk in the Woods (2015) - nothing special, but funny with good nostalgia flavor thanks to good actors 6/10
Bone Tomahawk (2015) - surprisingly good western, really tense 8/10

I'll never think of AI and Waifus the same way
The first minutes really threw me off with an all female world where teens get cut in half by wind
that got me wondering, hmm...Teenage girls...wind...i wonder if thats an excuse to show...oh..there it is, panty shot :)
Sion, you perverted man, this shit has become so predictable

Gladly, the plot isn't, it's definitely not another teen survival movie
Although Funnily enough it seems connected to The Chasing World movies or the novel Real Onigokko, i can say the movies atleast are in low tier of teen survival games

I definitely enjoyed the ending, which looked very satirical of his own work, and it's sure to depress you.

7/10

The Murder Case of Hana & Alice
An animated Prequel to Hana and Alice, both made by Shunji Iwai and with Yu Aoi as one of the lead characters
cant say i wanted another one, but it sure was about time for another one of his movies
its a nice slice of life, better then the first movie, as i found the characters to be less creepy
Thats, not to say there arent absolutely insane ones, but here i can at least understand the reason behind their actions and its pretty cute to be honest and also more nostalgic

7/10

For loves sake
its another adaptation of a Manga called Ai to Makoto (same name), directed by Takashi Miike
Miike is versatile director, with a vast and diverse filmography and a lot of adaptations of other artists work, but this is sort of a weird idea for a movie

Its supposed to be a joke, where Miike tries to outmatch old american romantic musicals by making it as cheesy as possible, actually scratch that, this is borderline Bollywood
But between the incredibly cheesy main story (girl falls in love with a street thug) and the cheesy japanese pop music, accompanied with awful dance numbers, i cant really see whats here to enjoy
Then half way through it sort of gives up and becomes a Miike movie, which ends up in huge contrast.
There's a darker side to the story, still cliche as hell, and of course the typical fight scenes, that in this case involve a dude kicking the crap out of cute highschool girls, hmm...that's a first.

Definitely my least favorite Miike Movie

The Gambler (2014) - It's a remake of The Gambler movie from 1974. This one is definitely worse in every aspect and it's pretty much vanilla version of the old one. It was decent but that's it. 6/10

Chappie (2015) - Another Blomkamp movie (the guy who directed District 9 and Elysium). This one gets the highest rating from me as well, just like two of his previous movies. It's just crazy good science fiction at its best with strong emotional elements put into it. Amazing experience. 10/10

The Heroin Busters (1977) - Old school Italian movie with some crime and some action elements. It was good. 7/10

Fragment Of Fear (1970) - Amazing UK movie about a reformed drug addict who's investigating the death of his aunt. The thing is that no matter what he says or what evidence he presents - no one seems to believe him. Very good movie, recommended. 8/10

Horrible Bosses (2011) - For the second time. One of the best comedies of the last few years from the US. And with great cast too. 9/10

Horrible Bosses 2 (2014) - The second part is as good as the first one and sometimes even funnier. Great comedy. 9/10

Had no idea it would be that easy to come upon a copy, my assumption was you download some low quality camera version

Haha, nah. I always wait for DVD Screeners, it actually leaked along with like 20 other movies that where in theaters over a month ago as I've watched it at least 3 times now. Annoyingly Star Wars is still only camera quality so I'm still waiting for that one.

I don't mind paying for games but when it comes to music and films. I'd rather see if I like it first and I hate going to the cinema.

the novel and movie were enjoyable , albeit super weird, the novel especially is a mess of so many different genres.
I wouldn't call Parasite eve for PS1 a sequel, it is adapted from the book, and it takes place after the events in the novel, but its mostly is own thing, its detached from the source material
PE (psx) is really good though and had some of the greatest cutscenes in that console.

Avengers: Age of Ultron yet another big event in marvel cinematic universe but it's kinda boring, even with the appearance of ultron, the vision, quick silver and scarlet witch because all it's focus it's how cap and ironman gonna start a civil war. I wish they would have gone with the comic age of ultron storyline

They tried to cram too much in there. Not to mention that if you watched all the trailers and clips released before the film, the whole film in its entirety was spoiled. Hopefully Civil War learns from this
