Man, I cried hard core during that movie the first time I seen it. :/

Yeah, I liked it all until the fantasy side came about. It felt awkward and unnecessary... This will be the only time I say 'they shouldn't have stayed true to the book'.

Hollywoodland (2006) - Pretty slow paced and good crime movie starring Adrien Brody, Ben Affleck and Diane Lane. Not for everyone though. 7/10
Man Of The House (2005) - Light and decent comedy starring Tommy Lee Jones. 6/10
San Andreas (2015) - Good movie about earthquakes starring The Rock and Carla Gugino. It's very predictable. Great visuals though. 7/10
And Then There Were None (2015) - I don't mention tv shows in this thread but this one is so called mini series and it's 3 hours long so it's more like a movie. Anyway, it's magnificent. A crime/mystery based on Agatha Christie's novel. Absolute masterpiece. 10/10
Rango (2011) - Very good animated movie directed by Gore Verbinski. 8/10
Megamind (2010) - Another very good animated movie. Pure fun. 8/10

The Virgin Psychics
American Pie for the Japanese. except everyone has superpowers and no one gets laid.
Aside from being a Sion Sono movie it doesn't have much integrity. Its something that was bound to happen sooner or later and at the end you can finally be relieved to know, the world returns back to normal and so does Sion Sono perverted ways.
Go for it if you want to watch an endless amount of models/gravure idols, including Ai shinozaki and Megumi Kagurazaka
There's barely anything holding the plot together...there, that's my attempt at a pun

Dead Sushi. Horror-comedy by Noboru Iguchi, fits right in with his other better-known works The Machine Girl, Robogeisha and Zombie Ass. WTFJapanSeriously/10

The Invitation
Its not perfect, but for what it is, it actually accomplished a lot of things.
So, yeah...another movie that borrows heavily from Hitchcock, mainly movies like "Rope" (which has been done to death) and of course you could make the argument that its not original, nor will it ever surpass the real deal.
But it does have a lot of strengths, none of those strengths include foreshadowing but i guess that's something you have to put in the beginning of your movie, somewhere
Aside from that, the cinematography and acting was fantastic. As horror movies should be, its not the violence depicted that gets you but rather how natural and realistic it feels.
and the soundtrack just up the intensity of every scene
Its biggest strength though has to be, being intelligent enough to be aware of itself. It looks at Hitchcock´s works and horror movies in general and changes things around to keep things unpredictable.

EDIT: also...finally something good from the director of Aeon Flux. About time!

New World
The Primer of Gangster films. Which might explain why i don't like it as much has i should.
Rest assured this is a good flick. Its way more detailed and complex than your usual korean/japanese movie. There are several twist and turns but in the end there so much going on, both on screen and off screen that it becomes exhausting. While a movie like Infernal Affairs keeps things simple and overall has a better fluidity.

10 Cloverfield Lane
Intense, mysterious and....Dumb?
I liked it. Its a fun watch. There's like 10 min where nothing happens when you get to know better these characters and the rest of the movie is just pure insanity...i was on my toes for the entirety of its running time. Now that i know the twists, the movie loses its magic...i really feel this is one of those movies that only works once.
The ending was really stupid though.Because it extends for as long as it does it aims to give you an idea of what would be happening next, and that leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth ...because if this movie had a sequel it would have been something very similar to Signs which requires a huge effort to suspend your disbelief...im really not sure if i needed to use the spoiler tag, i feel everyone knows this is Cloverfield

The Dolphin: Story of a Dreamer
My guilty pleasure is animated fish movies (yeah, dolphins arent fish, but its close enough) that were made and/or released to cash in on Finding Nemo. This one was pretty freakin pretentious. It's the old "work is bad, dreams are good" message, delivered in a way that makes folks like myself who take both working AND dreaming seriously roll their eyes. It had a five-minute fart joke that shaved seven years off my life. Voice acting was bad, animation and textures were surprisingly okay, the main antagonist had a much more interesting story than the hero, the theme song was full-on 80's-ballad corny, and all in all I don't regret watching it but I could've lived out the rest of my life without having seen it.
Then again, the last animated fish movie I saw was Padak, which is essentially Watership Down with fish and a sprinkling of Neon Genesis Evangelion-esque 2D sequences and trippy songs and a depressing but bittersweet ending and etc etc etc.

Total Recall (2012)
Run-of-the-mill action flick. Strays further from the original source material ("We can remember it for you wholesale") than the 1990 Schwazenegger movie, and lacks the cheesy-yet-funny comedy of that first movie too.
Good pacing and good acting and casting keep it going, but re-treading the exact same plot as the 1990 movie, and not doing a lot of world building on the altered setting (apart from cool visuals) hold it back from being really good.

The Green Inferno
Not a good movie. I'm just happy someone brought back Cannibal holocaust
Even if that someone was Eli Roth. He´s such a weird guy, he doesn't quite understand comedy but always finds a space to put an out of place joke
I still dont understand this guy, he clearly knows his horror movies, he knows how to pay homage, the gore is always great...he just needs a good screenwriter and tp stop with the porn. Torture is meaningless when you cant relate with the characters.

Monsters Vs. Aliens (2009) - Amazing animated movie strongly influenced by sci-fi/conspiracy/b-type movies from the 70's and 80's. I loved it. 9/10
The Lookout (2007) - Very good movie kind of similar to Fargo but a bit worse. No shame in that though as Fargo is a masterpiece. 8/10
Four Brothers (2005) - Very good action movie with good cast. 8/10
Bee Movie (2007) - I had pretty low expectations when I looked at the title but this animated movie turned out to be a very fun experience! Recommended. 8/10
Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse (2015) - Funny and gory movie about zombies. Worth watching but don't take it too seriously. 7/10
Wyrmwood: Road Of The Dead (2014) - Australian gory movie about zombies with a hint of comedy. Good stuff but only for people who don't mind tons of gore. 7/10

The 13th Warrior
Fun family movie. it has that 80's vibe, mostly fantasy and harmless but doesn't shy away from violence when it needs to be shown.
Very modest overall, although the DVD cover might incite you to believe its going to better than it actually is.
To keep things short: An arab joins a band of vikings and apparently Banderas is an Arab.
Thing is, Banderas is the lead because...well, its 1999, he was freakin popular at the time. There´s not much to his character, his name sells, that's all

Twelve O'Clock High Because it's been forever since I saw it last and Gareth Edwards reminded me about it. Last time I saw it was in a local indie theatre and it kicked ass. This time was in my home theatre and it was just as good.

Okay I'm lying when I say that it's Jug Face but I think more people need to see this movie. It's got a Children of the Corn kinda feel. Backwoods paranormal kinda Southern Gothic style weirdness. I liked it a lot. Definitely something different. Used to be on Netflix but now you'll have to find another way to watch it.

Los Simuladores elaborate different operations, pretending different roles, according to that person problem, with the purpose of resolving everyone of them."

Dreamscape
Bought the blu ray version with a kick-ass cover, thinking it was a blatant copy of indiana Jones and the temple of Doom. Turns out the cover is highly inaccurate.
Its more like, Flatliners meets Nightmare on Elm Street, except neither of those movies existed at the time.
It took me 3 sessions to finish this 90 min film but this is not your usual B movie
Half of it is great, while the other half is absolutely dreadful and slow. And the sad part is, with 40 min of "plot" they only managed to properly introduce the main character.
Whats cool is that it achieves the main goal, having Dennis Quaid portraying this seductive psychic and entering people dreams, thats fine. His character was by far the best and the dream world excels with crazy ideas. The practical and visual effects looked great, and so did the camera work.
In contrast, everything that's set in the real world is awful. It lacks a proper story, the sets look way worse, its slow paced and there's this small decisions that had me saying "well...thats something that just happened".
Ill give it this. Its a B~movie that seems to want to capitalize of off another movie, that ended up having an original idea that predates movies like Flatliners and Elm Street and obviously Paprika and inception has well. Sadly it didn't do anything with it except for the visual aspect

Here we go, I'll start.
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010) - This movie is a joke. At first it's interesting, then it's boring and then it's just funny/pathetic. And they put it in a "horror" genre. Words are not sufficient. Nosferatu is turning in his grave. 3/10
