Why is everyone so crazy about SKYRIM????

Morrowind is objectively the best RPG of the series, Skyrim is objectively the best videogame of the series. The game gets more refined but throws its roots out the door.

Not only that, but the world is just more fun to explore in Morrowind. It feels like an actual fantasy world, full of unusual and creative creatures. I really hope the next Elder Scrolls returns to a more fantastical location, but who knows.

Personally I despise it. I'd be content to merely dislike it except now everything from Dragon Age to Zelda's taking its cues from Skyrim. It's completely ruining good games and everyone else seems to love it because everyone else loves Skyrim.

Just because people find inspiration to Skyrim does not mean it is a bad game, also remember Morrowind did it before Skyrim,
and I do not see how this is ruining good games.

Dragon Age is a western RPG, Zelda is a game known for discovery and making it open world was going to happen regardless, Wii U seemingly can now go beyond what the Wii could, and I am aware of Xenoblade but regardless, open world is ideal for a Zelda game.

It's nice but overrated, IMO. I feel like having played Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas before Skyrim, and after hearing all the great reviews about Skyrim, Skyrim was a little underwhelming. It's still a good game, but by no means do I see why it is so highly praised. Probably the mods (which I haven't messed with yet).

Because the world is well built, very large, the game works very well with mods, the leveling system is different and you have to kill and absorb MOTHERF**** DRAGONS.

What I dislike: Easy and repetitive most of the time, small scales battles, no end game infinite progression like BL2, no option to be only one class and gain new gamestyles (like 100% mage!)

I never heard of Morrowind or Oblivion games before (of course I heard about Baldur's Gate, but I mean those kind of games). Because of the hype I met Skyrim, I bought it and now I can play it and enjoying each little place of that world. So it was the hype, I don't know if it is better or worse than other TES games, it is The game that made me meet these games.

i don't know, i tried to play morrowind and oblivion, but they didn't really kept me motivated because of the ugly gfx and the strange gameplay itself (i don't really like games that arr just a visual pen + paper what morrowind and oblivion are IMO) but skyrim really made me addicted for around 2k hours what is really rare nowadays^^
