Definately Manhunt, though the version of 2 that came out for the Wii blurs things out a little so you lose out on a lot of the gore. Manhunt 1 was a little better anyway.

+1, Soldier of Fortune 1 & 2 were awesome. Blowing off limbs with the D'eagle-a-like was verr satisfactory.

One question: What is wrong with you?
Nah, I get it really. I was fascinated with gore and death in movies, games, music but... it grew old and I guess I just matured. It doesn't do it for me anymore.
I remember beating Manhunt like 4 times though. I loved this game.

I own tons of horror movies but I'm not into gore for gore alone when it comes to movies. I have tons of games but most arent gory. My fave games are batman AC and battlefield 3. Neither is bloody or gory. I just sometimes want my fix haha. I dont think Ive even heard of manhunt but I will go look it up thanks ;)

I've just beaten it yesterday, hunting the rest of the achievements now, and it's a steal for $2.5 on Amazon, you should definitely get it!

Yeah it's an indie game :) though it's not actually gory, what about F.E.A.R? it has some gory scenes

It's not on PC but the new Mortal Kombat has a few disturbing fatalities

I have them both on PS3, so I can't say much in terms of Dead Space 2 being a better PC port than Dead Space 1.
That said, I can and will say I enjoyed Dead Space 2 more than Dead Space 1.
Personally, I say go for it... but I'm a huge Dead Space fanboy. Though I understand a bad port will put you off even if the game is good or not.

Dead Space games are actually amazingly executed ports. Just make sure to use vysnc via D3DOverrider. Other than that, the ports run extremly well even on older hardware and behave excellently with no bugs (at least i personally had no problems with them). They are very good ports, don't know why you say they aren't...

Why I say they aren't is the first is infamous for how bad it was ported, I found out after buying it, playing it 2 years later, and constantly having glitches. Shotgun blast (force rifle) from 2 feet, insta-kill! Shotgun from 2 feet, miss, repeat, repeat, get hit by enemy, shotgun blast (neither he nor I nor my crosshairs have moved) hit and kill! It happened constantly and was so annoying the game was hardly playable. Same problem as above when using telekinesis on objects, hit or miss randomly, and the misses became hits without adjusting position or aim direction in the least. Graphics wise especially for 5 years old it is terrific. Good story and setting and creepy atmosphere and the upgrade system for suit/weapons etc was fine. The guns themselves were pretty cool. I can't complain too loud, this is the first game I've ever had bug out on me and I own a decent number of games. Hear people complain about game X, yet it plays perfect for me.

It's a bit old, but Brutal DOOM.
It keeps much of the original gameplay, but makes a lot of the weapons more versatile (Even the starting weapon, the assualt rifle is pretty fantastic). In addition, a lot of the monsters are way more dangerous too (Revenant has better homing rockets, imp can pounce, mancubus fireballs have splash damage, cacodemons can air dash, etc). To put it one way, the Cyberdemon can now oneshot you even if you have 200 health and 200 armor if you get too close to it. Also, the Spiderdemon will now usually win against a Cyberdemon.

About GTA: check their steam page. They are all rated M and have blood and intense violence. IMHO, they fulfill the criteria for a gory game.
About DoW: yes, although they are strategic games, they are very violent. Specially, in Dawn of War II and its expansions, many powerful attacks blow the enemies to pieces. Also, Space Marine is gory.

Impaling thy enemies on Cactus plants! Gory indeed. Underrated game but it's pretty awesome!

RAGE maybe. It's not gory per se but the shotgun upclose is very visceral and blood spatter is pretty accurately depicted when you snipe someones face off the blood spatters very accurately and gets stuck at all kinds of surfaces. Also the death animations (as well as the animations in general) are pretty cool...
Edit: looks like you can shoot heads off of corpses. as seen here

Lookin for recommendations for any heinously gory games. Fallout has heads blown to bits, limbs in pieces, bone exposed, general painfully ick deaths =P dead space while not super gory kills has super gory deaths when you die. Not to confuse a bloody game with a gory game; Tons are bloody, few have gore. Lots are grisly violent (Dishonored) but not overly gory either. Can anyone recommend any newer (no older than 3 or 4 years?) games that might satisfy the gorehound in me? =) ya, maybe a mildly demented request. Sue me =P
Edit: after less than an hour I have like a dozen+ games that are sure to entertain me, haha. Thanks for all your recommendations everyone, much appreciated!
